it's not that bad - 1-gappers even unsuited really aren't that bad. You're getting great odds and good implied odds against the sort of idiot who min-raises monsters also. Seriously - you need to rethink your game.

i agree completely folding is just being a nit and kinda daft you have 2 players in the pot one with $50 the other $28 and this is the kinda of hand you can win big pots with against idiots min raising As Ks ect. what you said about you can call with any hand if you call with 75 jolenissen is just nonsense its not that bad at all

i think min raising in a cash game is like crying - hey, im fish wanna have a bite??? dont think i'll fold that hand in bb, hand is disguised and if we hit implied odds are too good to be folding this against a bad player. nice catch mahdrof

Have to say I am really pleased with the amount of people who have posted their thoughts on this play. Once I made the decision to call it wasn't difficult due to it being only 50 cents, but I really try to make good decisions on my hands no matter if it is 50 cents or 50 dollars. A bad call is a bad call even if it works out, and the long run is what we need to be looking at. Lately some players on my tables have been min-raising with decent but not great hole cards, so I did not put him on anything special. If I had a feeling he had AA then the call would have been easier to make, but I had never played against him before and had not seen him play enough hands to get a read on him. Thanks for all of your opinions.

This is true and I think what a lot of people fail to realize. I recently read the poker MTT book "Kill Everyone" - it's the only poker book I had and was pretty good read. Anyway, at the back there is a small section on cash games and it actually states - the bb is a great place to call speculative hands - connectors, 1-gappers, small pairs, etc. Anyway - it actually says you're better off calling somebodies UTG raise than you are calling a button raise - specifically because they are MORE likely to have a monster - hence increasing your implied odds if you flop a set or a monster draw with your speculative holding - since you're much more likely to stack AA UTG than you are gonna stack K10 on the button.
Only other thing I might add to the discussion - is if you're feeling particularly nasty - if the fish with AA reloads - be sure to call him a donk a few times in the chat box - really wind him up
