Last week, Gus Hansen, from Denmark, lost his first place in the yearly leaderboard to the Finnish poker pro Patrik Antonius. Now, after a few fantastic sessions against Antonius in the end of last week, Gus Hansen is once again back in the lead!
In total he has won $3,513,550 this year and he has a good margin over his 2 closest opponents gavz101 ($1,996,983) and jungleman12 ($1,952,994). Gus is[...] Read more » Gus Hansen is back in the lead

Gus almost doubles the second position in the leaderboard, wow. And 130k hands played in 4 months? That's a great achievement. Gus rakeback should be enough to feed a whole neighbourhood for a few months

He is very good player and he will be even better in the future. Look at Gus from last year or few months ago and now. He has improved his game the way that everyone should. He is the one that doesn't think "I'm winning 500k/1M$ every month so I don't have to learn". He is trying to be ahead of the other players and the list of top 10 winners online shows just that. On the other hand there is Blom, also great player but... well, but where is he now? He had very bad run in a lot of MTTs, he busted from few SCOOP events very fast... I think he has a long, long way to become as good as Gus, but also he is very young and he can do that, if he only will try to learn something from his mistakes. Being too aggressive can be profitable, but Gus proves, that playing a little bit tighter can be more profitable

Gus is having a very good year and its clear in his nice lead in the yearly leaderboard, but the way these players play it only takes few sessions to turn the leaderboard upside down. lets see what the standings are at end of season.

Gus Hansen is quickly becoming one of my favourite poker players overall. He is really pasionat about the game ans he is always looking to improve his game and be in the top. Thats the right spirit of a great poker player. Lets hope he will stay in the top of the biggest online winners for the rest of the year. Also i would like to congratulate Gavin Cochrane or gavz101 for his game, it really improved his pot limit omaha skills over the time. I must admit i would really like to see in couplr of months the US players hitting the tables once again, i would really like to see Phil Ivey on the tables once again. To my knowledge he is one of the most profitable online players, with a big BB/100. Now back to the top so far, does anyone know who NoPasaran is? I couldn't find any info about him...

I must say that it isn't that big a surprise though.. He has been playing really good this year.. He is yet again to take over the tables after some bad plays in the last few years
