At least three out of seven of the following criteria must manifest during a 12 month period

2. Great deal of time is spent in activities to arrange resources to play poker.

3.Withdrawal - Unwanted Break/ reduction from Poker leads to physical/ psychological symptoms manifested by but not limited to disturbances in sleep/ appetite/ mood, anxiety, fatigue, irritatibility, body pains. symptoms get relieved on resuming poker back to previous levels.

4. Tolerance - A state manifested by need to increase stakes/ hours to get the usual kick/ satisfaction from poker.

5. Persistent desire or unsuccessful efforts to stop/cut down or control the amount of time/money invested in poker.

I would have voted zero but you didn't include that option, therefor the poll is rigged! Tongue
For the first two years I played online I would have said at least six of them, if not all seven, but right now if I don't play it is okay, and if I only have time for a quick turbo SNG that is okay too. If I feel good and have time to multitable for 2-4 hours great, but often a two hour stretch is all that I can fit in.

I have 3 of these symptoms (criteria), or at least i feel them some times in my normal life. The desire of playing with more money is defenetly the most comon.

Nice post as always Supernoob, and yes it seems i'm really addicted to this game, so i'm in the first answer of the poll Big Smile

This is a cool description of a player that loves the game but i must say that i always have a limit and respect the most important rule of poker: bankroll management Big Smile

I mean one thing is to be addicted to the game and be good at it and other thing is to be addicted and be a losing poker player...

I'm the type of person that once I develope an interest in an activity I dive in whole heartedly. I research and study. Practice and practice until I have reasonably perfected the skill well enough to improve and succeed. To this point I'm still in the developmental stage. Progress is slow. Then agian dealing with the infinite numbers of ways to lose playing this game motivates me to study deeper and practice more.
Many people I know tell me I'm addicted...then again most of them haven't succeeded at very much.

Ha ha withdrawal, man I got to look it up and see if there are actually documented cases of people going through poker withdrawal. "Come on man, just let me see one flop, I won't even play til' the river, please!"

I guess looking at that list I'd have to say I'm not addicted, ony really have 1 and sometimes 6. I guess 2 may come up sometimes as well . . .

Guess i play to low limits ( and no deposits to date) to consider myself a gambler but i do feel the urge to play and it does affect my mood depending on how the session went.
Maybe those r the early stages of addiction lol... think i should relax and cut back a bit.
