The November Nine  0
hi mobsters heres a update on the final players at the WSOP Main Event

Just 9 players remain in the WSOP Main Event. They will return to Las Vegas on November 5th to play down to a World Champion. Most of them weren't well-known until now, but here's your first chance to learn a little bit about each member of the November 9.

Martin Staszko (Age 35 - 40,175,000 Chips) is the first ever player from the Czech Republic to reach the Main Event final table. Staszko’s best tournament result prior to this week was taking 11th place in the EPT Deauville Main Event for just shy of $50,000. With lifetime earnings under $100,000, his Main Event final table guarantees him quite a bit more money than he has ever earned in poker before.

Eoghan O’Dea (Age 26 - 33,925,000 Chips) is an Irish poker pro with both online and live success. He won the 2008 ECOOP III Main Event for $315,000 under the screen name ‘Intruder123’ and has over $700,000 in live cashes prior to his Main Event winnings. Poker runs in O’Dea’s family, and his father Donnacha O’Dea is a former WSOP bracelet winner who made the Main Event final table twice. O’Dea hopes he can best his father’s accomplishment by winning it all.

Matt Giannetti (Age 26 - 24,750,000 Chips) is a poker pro who lives in Las Vegas. Prior to this tournament he had just shy of $500,000 in lifetime tournament earnings- although his biggest single score until now was for under $70,000. Although he’s not well-known to fans, Giannetti is recognized as a strong cash game pro and is a regular in several Las Vegas casinos.

Phil Collins (Age 26 - 23,875,000 Chips) is not a singer himself, but he was named after one. Although Collins might not have been known very well at the live poker tables (where he has about $125,000 in lifetime cashes), quite a few more players would recognize him by his online name, ‘USCPhildo’. Online, Collins has won over $3 million in earnings and is one of the most respected high stakes tournament players around.

Ben Lamb (Age 26 - 20,875,000 Chips) is the highest-profile member at the November 9. Lamb is leading the WSOP Player of the Year race, and the Main Event is his 4th final table of the 2011 WSOP. He has over $1 million in online tournament earnings, over $2.5 million in live earnings (excluding this Main Event), and is a feared high-stakes cash game player in Las Vegas where he resides.

Badih Bounahra (Age 49 - 19,700,000 Chips) is the oldest member of the November 9. Bounahra doesn’t have exceptional tournament results, but he has a vast amount of live poker experience. He owns and runs a poker room in Belize- so presumably he’s played plenty of hours of live poker. With 10 players remaining, Bounahra was often extremely short on chips but was the beneficiary of a significant error by John Hewitt who allowed him to double up with pocket kings.

Pius Heinz (Age 22 - 16,425,000 Chips) is the first German player to ever reach the November 9, and he is known online as ‘MastaP89’. He has 6-figures worth of online tournament scores, but he has limited live experience. This Main Event is just his 2nd live cash (and what a cash it is!). His first live cash came earlier this summer when he won $83,286 for coming in 7th place in a $1,500 No-Limit Hold’em WSOP event.

Anton Makiievskyi (Age 21 - 13,825,000 Chips) is the youngest player remaining in the Main Event, and if he wins in November he’ll replace Joe Cada as the youngest World Champion ever. Makiievskyi hopes to become the 5th Ukrainian player to win a bracelet this year. One of the 4 Ukrainians with a bracelet already is Anton’s close friend Oleksii Kovalchuk, who lent Anton his lucky jacket to wear in the Main Event. So far, the jacket is doing its job.

Sam Holden (Age 22 - 12,375,000 Chips) is the final player in the Main Event from the UK- he is from Canterbury in England. His live results are extremely limited and include just a few cashes in small buy-ins, but online Holden has over $250,000 in tournament earnings playing under the name ‘SamDMND’. Reaching the November 9 is Holden’s first 6-figure score, and if he does well in November it can be his first 7-figure one.

If i bet on this, it will be on Lamb. Perhaps he has the most low odd because he his the most known from the list, but he has less than half the chips of the leader, so things will be tight for him.

I'm going for Martin Staszko cause he is Czech and if he wins I hope poker will become more popular in the Eastern European countries (like Poland e.g.). Besides his name sounds Polish to me so I wish him the best! GL Thumbs Up

Now that I know that Phill Collins is not Phil Collins I'll choose one with some kind of stupid criteira

NIce thread and good idea but i already posted in another thread if i remember correctly that i think Ben Lamb will take the big prize home Smile

His stack it's not that big but he proved to have amazing live poker skills on this year world series of poker, so my money are on him....

I don't know too good the other players but since they are at the final table they also must be really good, but here anything can change only after a hand Smile
