Iknow live is not the same but when you play online do any of you have superstitions ?i myself like to have the cursor in the same place(not good when multi-tabling)i also need to have a certain seat position(not available on all sites) am i alone?.....

I actually had to work to remove some weird habit like superstitions from my game when I started playing online. One thing I noticed if I got the same hand twice in a row I'd want to lay it down so much more the second time, even if it was a good (not AA or what not though, of course).

There are things that sometimes come to my mind, generally because of some coincidence or another.. As a general rule - I never act on them. However, if I am drunk enough I may; not because I believe it will affect anything, but simply because it popped into my head and I am drunk
An example:
I have two tables open - on one table I just get dealt 6Jos on the other table the flop comes 66J.. So in my mind it's like - ooh look - according to that other table my J6o is gonna flop nice.. Of course, this is just a meaningless coincidence. But the human brain is designed to recognize patterns and try to make sense of them (*ahem* rigtards). My advise to anyone is to never act on superstition, it is a significant leak.
Psychology in general defines gamblers as having a high tendency towards superstition, FYI. So there are certainly a LOT of poker players acting on such "instincts", favorite hands are a very common example. Learn these tendencies and exploit them, where possible.

So do I. But this isn't superstitious, it just makes it easier to play 6+ tables..
superstitions are something we believe that bring luck to us. I am not believe in luck, so, i dont believe in superstitions Poker isnt game of luck like many players think, it is a sport, where skills are very important. There we have not bad luck, just bad decision... So if you believe in luck, play lotto or bingo. At poker, bingo players sre fish and very bad players.

The mind is a funny thing.
There was a time i used to put the volume on my PC at exactly 10, because then the cards fell in my favour. (my "lucky" number) I also sometimes think that if I actually wait and click the fold button, instead of clicking the box for a pre-fold before it´s my turn, I get much better cards.
I realise this is the mind making subconcious associations with perceived patterns.
...but still I do it sometimes.
(the position is just handy for multitabling, but I guess it can be percaieved as important, in a supertitious sort of way)

Yes I have a play set of chips and i find myself doing the normal trick between hands like the chip shuffle and flipping etc. I have no idea why I do it execpt it breaks up some of the bordom when the tables are so slow.

multitabling or even single tabling its just an habit not a superstition (if u played with aluminium foil wrapped around ur head so other players can't hack ur thoughts, or sacrifice a frog every time u get AA to thank the gods than u can start to worry) and also do the same

I always wear tinfoil on my crown when playing poker, I am told this stops the radiation polution from my computer screen and xrays from space, however when my woman is at home I have to take it off as she says that it scares the cats, this really anoys me because as a rookie I feel that I need all the help I can get and I feel she is being really selfish puting the cats before me!! I dont want to moan but surely I should come before the cats, I mean to say how can I play poker properly when being constantly bombarded by radiation and xrays, also it really anoys me when she farts in bed and pulls the covers over my head but no matter how much I complain she constantly abuses me in this way I think its totally disgusting and really am coming to the end of my tether and why do I have to do the dishes all the time just because she is on lateshift I work hard too, its just not fair!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I do: when i am in complicated all-in situation, i always ask for the monitor to give me the cards i want to and try not to think about the cards that will give my oponent the victory. I do this because i used to think "if table gives a 10, this guy will finish" and it always came the damn card my oponent wanted. So i kept doing the oposite and, someties, it looks to work. Better believe it than not... or it wont work

I do not have any superstitions, but i admit that i selected a place on the tables since i hate to watch on different parts of the screen when i have more than 4 table opened...
But still it's not a superstition it's just a practical aspect, other than that i really don't have a superstiotion, i choose to make a good table selection before i join a table
I think a good table selection it's much more important than a superstiotion in oeder to be aprofitable player
