Had a bit of history with this fish, few hands previous he flopped a 9high flush vs my sets with 95 vs my 66. VPIP 59% and AF of around 1.1 over 100 hands.
I think I really overplayed my aces here, but I just felt like he missed his flush draw (which I was right) and so I spazz-over shoved thinking he'd call me down light. Little did I know he backdoored the straight on me. Sigh....

Maybe you should have betted much higher/shoved on flop and turn to make him fold. But I guess he would have called anyway, because he had lot of out with flush draw and gutshot straight draw.

There's not a lot of point in putting in giant over-bet/value-bets on the river unless you have the nuts/close-to. Basically, you only had a single pair by the river - you're pretty much folding every hand you beat by shoving so much more than than the pot. You get zero value from a fold and lose value every time you're called, it is a lose-lose situation for you.

Yep, the shove is really bad. No player with half a brain will call you here with a hand you can beat. This board is really ugly. A lot of two pair and straights possible.

As said, on that flop bet much bigger, your bet need to get rid of flush and straight draws and even get the likes of KQ, KJ etc etc to fold, chances are at these stakes that wont happen, but at least you can get your money in good. After that see jessthehumans comment, i will add to it a little, but basically what he is saying, yor bet will only be called by hands that beat you.

hard flop for sure and too small of a raise to put someone on a hand. not much of a choice there really, in the end u knew the only way to win would be to over bet at the flop. ul this time, better luck in the next
LMAO you didnt over play them, you played the hand wrong, what did you think he had to bet that much on the river there were plenty of hands to beat your ass. oh sorry was it a value bet

The gambling is an art, so keep do it well and you will be winner inthe end. Well the hands are very strong but a notice says to you risk in the third one. By the way the hand 4 and 7 was perfect. That is my way to play. Nice and easy.
I think I would've tried to defend my aces more. Bet like 3/4 of the pot on the flop, or even the pot. If there is callers and no J or hearts come on the turn, shove! trying to make your opponents fold early on a heavy drawing board is the way to go with aces...
always make a big raise or go all in when playing aces, the reason why aces lose alot is cause of slow playing, best move is make a big raise , if the guy calls go all in on the flop, thats the best way to play aces in my opinion.

If this guy is a fish he never would have folded to a shove fitw a flush draw and an over to the board

Some players pushes allin to protect a midpair against to much players. But if you hold a monster a standard raise is good enough to get value. If you had a verry loose table you can overbet to isolation players with a draw hand. But when all players fold you get not enough value for your top hand.
