It´s no secret that I´ve been running bad for a long time now. I usually play a day, get sucked out in every tourney by really ridiculous hands, and then get disgusted enough to stop for a few days again.
Today I thought would be different.
Played 3 Tourneys.
Crucial all-in no1: AQ to AJ...I lose 2 hours wasted, one tourney gone, but that I can still handle. No problem, regular suckout, that´s Poker.
Crucial all-in no2: 3.100 runners in the Ipad/Ipod thing on Party: (first time I try it) At one point I am in top 10, only 65 runners left.
Get AA, raise big villain goes all-in, I call Vilain holding 88 I already know what´s going to happen: 8 on the flop ALL that great play against 3.000 guys for hours.... only to lose with AA AGAIN!
Rebuy Tourney: I get AK raise big, called by vilain in the blinds K83 flop, he raises big I go all-in, he calls, shows KJ I already know what´s going to happen: J on the turn (one of my few cashes in more than a month, but still worthless for my bankroll) I play SOOOO damn careful now, avoiding all-ins, folding too much, still making it well into the bubble
...only to get f´ed over EVERY single time I go for that last play that will save my bankroll or let me win anything at all.
I HATE AA KK QQ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are just NOT holding up at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And this has been going on since June!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Jeff! Great to hear from you!
Yeah, that final table took houuuuuurs.... the blinds were too low and it got really boring. Made some moves that lost, of course, and ended up 4th.
Man, I am losing it. Can´t seem to win a showdown to save my life. At least none of the crucial ones. And i´m always way ahead. Varience is hitting me incredibly hard since well over a month.

I'm doing fine, yeah a lot of Party(poker), Titan and lately i'm running super at Carbon, just opened an account there . How are you? Last time before you 'dissapeared', you had some bad personal stuff to deal with, is that better/over now? I hope so. Read Jesse's message for you

Well, the bad news was my dad who broke his back and is now permanently paralised and in hospital in Belgium. So that was/is pretty bad, yep. The Doctors f*ed up, and thats why he was paralised in the end. Very sad. Spent most of june in Belgium.
Just read Jess´s post.
Wow! Is that nice or what? busy day tomorrow so I have to hit the sack, first answer his post.
Hope you stick around Jeff. Really great to have you around. And i mean that.

Yeah that's terrible, really bad. I have no words....., so sorry to hear. Doctors f*ck up all the time( lost two years of my life after almost dying due to a doctors mistake) I hope your father and your family can come to terms with it and that there will be no messy lawsuits involved. My sympathies and cu later

Friggin ell IslandJack that's some shitty news, sorry to hear it too...best attitude "let´s move on"
I say cut them fields, play a few 400-1000max and get that winning feeling back, nothing worse than suck outs after 3-4hrs work.(just for a while, then go back to them 3k sloggers if you like) Best of luck.

lol Yep! I love the "3k sloggers" or more. Don´t really know why exactly.
Got AA only once last night and I was hoping to pocket that Ipod/Ipad/Iphone thingy. unfortunately they cost me that again.
Funny how I used to hate playing JJ, and now I know how to play them and they´re way safer for me than the top 2 which I "have" ´to go all-in with when they push me. (or when I push them)
If you know how to pull the stats for AA and KK showdowns from Holdem Manager (I don´t), I´d love to see where I´m at with those during the last month and a half. Not really using HEM yet during play, but stats-wise, it must be a goldmine...

You can go the long way, click on hands and click AA to show all hands played with AA then sort out which went to showdown, was a long time since I used HM, PT for that, now on ubuntu and the likes of them programs are not supported or cause problems. Does HM have a filter?, perhaps you could show all hands that made showdown, then click AA/KK and see hands. Type "Leak Finding Using Hold'em Manager" in google, im sure you will find some tips.

Unlucky Island i dont pretend to have the answers but thought i would let you know i read and i did listen. It's dam hard at times and no matter how well you play or how far ahead you are you get on a bad run. And seems like thats what your on but i hope you hang in there and come out the otherside and get the reward your play deserves.

I think your problem is having so negative thoughts. Of course one dont have to be supersticious to play it, but it sure is better to think it will e us who is going to win instead of thinking it will be the others. That ca result in H/L games, when we think "i know i never got aces and kings" so we can have real low hands and battle for the Low. Think positive. "I win because i play nice." instead of "i already know i'm going to loose again and again".

Yep1 that´s how I´m thinking. That´s why I stop everytime for a day or more, and try again with a more positive outlook. Hasn´t worked so far, because the same thing happems over and over. Been thinking about this "negative thoughts" thing that you say a lot lately.
Anyway, thanks for the support everyone. I´ve reached a point today where I just give up caring about it. I guess that´s the stage that comes after the "Tilt" stage... I´ll just play once in a while until it turns around.

Running super bad as well. Dropped about $500 off my peak over the last 400 games (over the last 2 weeks or so). Its just like I can't do anything, losing the important flips and getting 2 outer'd on the river way too often The most important thing is to keep going and just keep grinding. It will change over the time (it has to) and you'll have happy days sometime

interesting thread , but whats the point of it , I mean as you say you know whats going to happen every hand so doesnt it get boring, if you know you know , if you want you get and you usually want what you get if you deserve it , bet you knew that allready so am just boring you again,

That's awful news Island, I'm sorry to hear things haven't turned around for you yet. Gotta admit it's a little frightening to see variance hit a skilled player so hard, worried I may be next. Those are some awful beats and I agree with you when you say they are manageable when they are spaced out in moderation. Constant bad luck will wear everyone down. Take a break and come back doing what you do best. I hope it will turn around for you soon.
