Awful night!!  0
Tonight could well have been one of the wort nights for poker in a long time. It seemed like no matter what i done i couldnt win. I lost with KK AA AK QQ , it was just endless. This all happend on ultimatebet and it has wiped out my bankroll Sad . Totally ridiculous, anyways just needed to vent and possibly get some sympathy lol.

Hey Bakera, I know it is really tough to find logical reasons to cool down, but hey, you are not the only one who has been through this and you surely do not need to deal with it alone. Those hands are strong, but not invincible, unfortunately. One thing to learn is to NEVER put all of your bankroll at risk. This is the one and only poker truth out there. If you want to be a successful poker player you MUST have good bankroll management. That is the difference between a good player and a bad player, by good player I don´t mean only knowing how to play the game, but good player is someone who knows how to play according to their own bankroll.

If it makes you feel better by listening to my online poker day last night, here is one simple example:

I had KK, the board was K 2 10 8, I put my opponent all-in for over $1200 pot.
He had AJ. Guess what the river showed, a Q. He went all-in on turn for $600 with not even a pair, relying on a 2 outer chance of winning. Miracle river saved his skin. How in the world do you think I felt?

wow thats a lot more than i lost fodz, what a ridiculous call he made. I know i should understand bankroll management but lets say i have $50 in my account and i lose half of that on a bad beat or something, i have the tendency to sit at higher stakes with the rest of my bankroll trying to gain it back and end up losing it all. I can see and understand my problem i just cant stop myself from doing it sometimes. Im stupid i know but i will have to learn from my mistkes and hooipefully it will make me a better player at the end off it. Smile

All I can say Bakera is that the only way to break away from this repetitive cycle, is to do it differently next time around. A way of knowing if the current way that you are playing is productive or not, is simply by seeing how far you are from when you first started. If you keep going back to zero, something is definately not right and needs change.

I know fodz, i do ok with my bankrolls on other sites like fulltilt where i have one but on UB it seems like the game is against me which annoys me which makes me do stupid things if you understand what i mean? Like if i get AA or KK for instance instaed of thinking cool big hand , i think to myself damn AA i bet i end up losing with them.... maybe thats why i play them wrong and do lose. .... beause of my psychology and the way i look at it. I dont know i need to work on my game a little i guess but thanks for the advice it is appreciated. Smile

No problem, and trust me, I know it is a pain to hear someone saying you have to change and bla bla bla, but be sure that all advice given from my part is well intended and with no second intentions. If I speak of poor bankroll management is only because i have been there, done that, and after much work and effort, broke away from that losing cycle. So all and all, I really do hope you have a very successful poker carreer and can come back here to post all of your great victories! Thumbs Up

wanna hear something worst, only one session of Omaha on Full Tilt.

200 hands 17 won, and this is not other session i mentioned, this was actually the third with same percentage of hands won. First one was even worse 200+ hands only few i think 7 won. I folded some 10-12 hands in both combined which i would have won, but those were some quads on board and stuff.

Wanna know how is my bankroll holding, i went up from the dead, started the day with $15, im now at $68. How by not tilting at all. Not one tilt in entire day. Only playing lowest possible limits, no fancy stuff.

LOL so your friend must know how it feels Aww crap! . I decided that i need to work on my game a litte after some advice from the fodz so today i think i will begin on play chips at fulltilt cause i honestly dont believe playing in freerolls helps your game ( all in on nothing always ) and thats not going to learn me anything.

QFT you could play with playmoney when you play in freerolls. first of all the time you spend in a freeroll and the amount of money you can make is just -EV and second asyou said it's mostly just push or fold and that has nothing to do with "real poker" .... unless the freeroll has a huge prizepool, then it's ok to play freerolls Dollar

The Fodz that hand that you lost sounds like a typical loss for me on Ultimat Bet. I get so mad at how often it seems to pay off for these card chasuing players. It doesnt matter what you bet if they are on a flush draw or a 4 outer staright draw they will call and usually hit. I dont play the stakes that you play fodz, but I lost $95 in a hand just like yours a couple days ago.

Hi fellas,

Playing poker has its downs absolutely!
I've been playing poker now for a long time, and from my own experience the majority of your proffits comes from how your bank roll looks from the start. it may sound wierd absolutely, but if it not true averyone wouldent be doing it.. if u ask any pro if they gone bankrupt the will say " Yes!! several times" and this means something! young poker players are to " desperate " to get up there! so they risk it...it doesent matter how good you play those 1 outers vill allways come! ...sadly....but what changes everything is how you handle the situation from there and on...personaly i go for a jog..or go to the gym..maby have a chat with my mate...getting my mind off poker for atleast 15min..after that im calm and ready enough to play without regret or desperation..ive lost some sick hands for ex "A Heart 3 Heart----- flop----- 2 Heart 4 Heart 5 Heart-----turn-----7 Heart -----Rivver-----6 Heart ( he had K Heart 8 Heart pot 1300$) note this was my first experience of an straight flush Tongue but thats poker man Tongue it happens to everyone...i had my bankroll fixed up and started playing about 1 h later again makeing a profit for the day with 500$ (icl the loss )....Play well and think! being desperate aing going to lead you anywhere than zero...That's prob the best advice i can give ya Cool cheers

Poker has frustrated many players over the years whether they are
professional players or rookies. The game itself is a skill based
game and whatever game you are playing, for example Texas Hold 'em,
the game may seem simple in principle and easy to learn but the
reality is something quite different. Poker can be learned in a
matter of hours, but mastering the game is something else entirely.

All poker players will tell you that the game is based on skill
and this is entirely true, but the fact is that poker players do
need a certain amount of luck to get them through a game or a tournament.
The main difference in players winning and losing doesn't just mean that
one player got lucky while the others were unlucky; it means that the
winner dealt with their luck in a specific situation that was
conducive to winning. Many players who are on a lucky streak can
become reckless in their playing as the luck has made them lose
their objectivity. This can spell disaster for many players.
It is imperative to remain detached and focused when you are on a winning streak.
If another player is on a lucky streak but is not necessarily a good player,
then it is important to bide you time as eventually this players luck will run out.

Diversely, a player who is having a bad run of luck but is playing well must
keep their wits about them the same as a player who is making poor decisions
but getting lucky. If you are getting lucky but your playing is below par take
on board all of your mistakes and learn from them.

When playing poker the bottom line is to remember to keep cool and remain in
control. Luck comes and goes not only for you but to your opponents as well.
If you can remain consistent while playing, whether you are getting lucky or
not and whether your opponents are getting luck or not, then eventualy you will succeed. Thumbs Up

In Freerolls you can learn to control yourself in situations that make you tilt. Like when you have a good draw and someone goes allin, will you fold or go allin. Depends on 2 things, how much you put into that pot and with what he went allin last time. If you payed only blinds to get into that pot leave it there and fold its not the last hand. If you did payed most of your stack into that pot i usually call and see what happens. And if he wins with some crap cards if youre not on tilt you got the point about poker, i usually tilt Big Smile. And after some time those players usually drop out of tourney. As i have seen so far after 3/4 players have dropped out then real play begins and it doesnt matter if you have big or small stack you can play it like you should.
