Hi xrisaris and welcome to the forum! I am a fan of David Sklansky's books, and have read "The Theory of Poker" and "Hold 'Em Poker for Advanced Players", and can recommend both of them. However for tournament play maybe his book "Tournament Poker for Advanced Players" is helpful. I haven't read it so I can only recommend it based on his other books.

i will also recommend David Sklansky's "Theory of Poker", but its a general poker book and not specific for NLHE or MTTs. jess here has done pretty good in tournaments and he recommends 'Kill everyone', so u can try that

I've previously read Kill: Everyone as SupperNoob says, it was fairly good, MTT based.
However, been trying to improve my cash game and I've just finished "Professional No Limit Holdem" and I must say it is foooken fantastic, better IMO for cash than Kill:Everyone is for MTT. If you're looking to improve your ring game then definitely grab this book, although it's probably not beginner level - a lot of the concepts would be wasted under nl50 I think..
------------ just re-read OP - you ARE looking for MTT books, I haven't read a lot, so I can't really compare, but I did a lot of research and eventually purchased Kill:Everyone and I definitely wasn't disappointed, so whilst I can't say it's the best as I haven't read much, it is definitely a good read and I think from beginner-pro everyone will find at least something to add to their game.

I tend to watch vids now, never get that in to books..so cant help there sorry, but MTT end games pretty much like this, less than 14 BB Push or fold, 14-20 BB re-shove, 20-30 open raise 30+ steal, short and sweet.

There is many good multimedia material today to tend to be stuck to books today, although i defend we always should read to complement the knowledge. Unfortunately, there is only one good book writen in portuguese, so that means a portuguese who wants to know something more about the game, needs to know english to get access to the better material.

I never actually read a poker book although i have some in pdf format on my pc but i've read tons of poker articles and also tons of poker strategy videos
Frankly so far, for me at least instructional videos were the most important source of documentation and the easiest form to learn
I heard one of the best poker books is written by Doyle Brunson, maybe you check that out btw

Greetings Xrisaris and welcome to Bank Roll Mob. Glad one of your early questions was a good. And thanks for all the responses guys. I torrented a ton of books a while back but haven't touched any due to the shear volume, now I can go through and look for some of your recommendations.

pdf files are fine if you actually have an E-Reader (like a NOOK/Kindle). But they're pretty useless if you're just reading off your computer screen.
IMO - If you were looking to train yourself, then the best option is to read books first to understand theory and concepts and THEN to watch the training videos to see the concepts in practice.
$1850 for a new copy....just abit out of my price range. All the suggestions here are very good as usual, may I suggest Power Hold'em Strategy by Negreanu. There is something for everyone in this book as each chapter is written by a different pro. With all the playing style examples explained in detail makes for an insightfull read.

Never read a poker book so far, but I guess I should give it a try to improve my game. Guess I will try Kill Phil / Kill Everyone rgarding tourneys and will in addition search for a nice one for casg games.
Myself have read many books. Poker - a poker game. Of course, intelligence is added, but it always depends on the situation specifically each hand - keep track of opponents - is the main point I made

If you are interested in books some of them mentioned above come translated in Greek also. I dont know how much they cost outside Greece but i think they are kinda overpriced. Have a look though :http://www.pokerbooks.gr/ and make a Google search to find another seller probably a cheaper one
