Perhaps thats what your government want you to think, why would America and Europe hate you all? The claim because "we here all alcoholics, criminals, the poor and lazy?" is just pathetic. In the words of the great Tony G "I PLAYED IT LIKE A SET! EVEN I THOUGHT I HAD A SET"...ahhh bet you thought I was going to say something else.
Admit it, that tension is the place to be. Faced with this on vacation in Turkey. "Russian? Conversation ended." Was not drunk, stoned - just tried to keep the conversation next sitting of the bad weather =)

I can't speak for anybody else than myself. I live in Europe, and I certainly do not hate russians. I even plan to learn russian some day. My best vacation ever was in Moscow, during the 9 of may (I think the date is, it is a few years ago) celebrations.
There will always be someone, somewhere, who doesn't like you, and there ain't nothing you can do about it, so why bother?

I have no idea regarding a European attitude towards Russians - although perhaps animosity towards the old soviet union and Communism in general :/
Regarding America - I think it is fair to cite the Cold War as a pretty good precursor for the current attitude.
However; I really wouldn't worry to much, anyone who dislikes you just because you're Russian is obviously a dickhead and not worth knowing or talking to.
Slightly off-topic, the ONLY guy I've made friends with at Uni (after 1.5yrs) is a Russian, been in Aus a few years now though, but he lived majority of his life in Russia and obviously born there too.

I don't hate Russians, in fact, never even heard of "russian hate". do know some people that are very strongly against comunism thou, still doesnt go beyond politics. hating people from a specific country as a general thing makes no sense to me.

I agree with SuperNoob,and i should know,drunks ,lazy,poor,criminals,it what the world say about the Scottish,were not all poor but the rest is quite accurate... ,its a world wide love/hate thing RussiaOnLine so i would say "let it be"good luck all....

you get drunks,lazy people, and criminals in every society and those are just the people that run the countries as for people hating russians your going to get people hating other people no matter what nationality they are,just ignore the ignorant and embrace the kind people

Well, first to say your government is pure s**t and nothing but corrupt and criminal. Second, in a lot of cases when theres have been a robbery in my hometown the thiefs who are caught are often russians. I think a good example of russian politics was shown towards Finland in 1939 when they started to bomb us without a declaration of war and the winter war started (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Winter_War) ... i cant be thankfull enough to the men and women who gave their lives so we could keep our soveregnity and NOT be a part of russia.

I think the people hates all the others when they got a suckout But why you think that anybody hate the Russians? At the poker tables they play better as some allin freaks and a lot of them have a aggressive playing style and thats ok.
