I will never again play MTT on Poker Stars! Never! Those crazy large fields are...ughhhh... I tried lot of times to make results in these tourneys... 3$, 2$, 5$.... and kept on thinking its enough to make result in one and it will be So after finishing ITM lot of times, but not close to final table, I finally finished deep in one of them! It was 3,3$BI 3000 peoples registered. I was in 1st 10 during almost whole ITM play until 40 people left. But in last hour of tourney I couldnt pick up decent hand and with blind so high my chips started to melt down. Had something below 300 000 in chips when I get JJ and guy with 150 000 in chips goes all in for 3rd time in row on my BB. I called, he showed K10, and before I had a chance to punch air K hit flop... Nothing unusual. few hands after I got AJ suited and with 10BB left I go all in and run into AA.
Well, I finished 18 from 3000!!! Ind got 27$ profit! HUUUUGE! 18 from 3000! first place was 1500$ I mean, played for 7 hours and got 27$ profit. Those fields are just too big. You play whole day, you finish in first 0,6% of people and you get 9BI for effort. And you will probably wait another 6 months to get even close to final table. Those MTTs are just too big disappointment...

ul man, thats why i only really play the turbo tourneys for small stakes as its just to much time to as you say to get that for and get almost nothing at least in a turbo it takes half the time or less to get there.
there is some 2x chance tourneys that have smaller fields you can try or the 2x turbos they are smaller field too with max about 1200 depending on times
Pokerstars is a fucking joke man.. I cant fucking believe how rigged that site is.. I have NEVER EVER seen so many suckouts anywhere else... I usually play heads up and earlier today i lost all my bankroll because of fucking suckouts. some guy kept going all in every single hand . eventually i called him with AJ suited he turned over 10 3 and what do u know flop comes 10 5 3 then 3 then 2. makes a full house. the next game i go all in with AK suited against KQ offsuit flop comes K Q 10.. i lose again. and its been happening all fucking day and every fucking time i play i get so fucking pissed off its unbelievable

a couple days ago i was thinking the same as i played a big mtt. you play 2 hours a real good and serious poker, just to see it end up in a big bingo party when it comes to earn the money you have been working hard before to get there. i only play cashgames at pokerstars. the tournys suck there...(to me)

Samething happened to me playing in MTT 1$ BI in the 30K Gtd. Only 1 rebuy managed to reach 500k chips ITM top 300 players was playing great. Dealt pocket Kings raised someone else goes all in with 450K called was expecting probably AA or QQ atleast but turns out 99 was really happy until he hit trips on the flop... really disappointed after playing 3 hours to win only a little amount. It was a long time since I was in deep in a tourny. I was playing on one table for almost 2 hours straight same 3 players were dominating we were playing real poker which was pretty fun unitl I got moved to a donk table felt like i was playing with 8 80 year olds playing bingo lol.

thats pretty standard for the for that tourney at that stage nothing wrong with the guys play at all its a 3x turbo by 300 left the blinds are massive and you prob ever eve had 10bb at that stage

hmm damn i honestly forgot lol how much the blinds were but as I recall I was doing pretty good in the top 50 was really surprised to see him call with 99 I was folding low pocket pairs as alot were going all in and loosing. I am not 100% sure but I think I had well over 10 BB. Damn not sure if it was 300 or more lol played so much past weeks lost track....

yea for sure in that, its tough to get past the rebuy stage without a load of rebuys. He maybe thought you would fold for your stack and if you called was hoping he was flipping if the blinds were smaller. That tourney is great for a $1 rebuy i played it last week came 800 and somethig but the prize pool was 75k with 11k for first pretty damn good for $1 rebuy but you do have to run like god in it better luck next time

i dont play big tournaments for the same reason, way too much effort and u need to be lucky to hit the final table. best is mixup with other games and smaller tournaments to maintain your patience.

The bigger the fields in MTT the higher the variance, 180mans MTT have not that big variance but 3000+ or 5000+ runners have big variance, so you have to multi them like hell (or have a very long patience). MTTs are called donkements for a reason, everybody can be a winner short run, and to be a winner long run its also not that hard, just play tight abc poker in the beginnning then do the icm thingy (i think you allready know that right? for wot i know ur a winner).
Imo MTTs (low and middle stakes) are worth grindable, so play 6/9 or 12 tables at a time and variance will even out in a couple of time.

i see your point. to play this for fun... mtt's ,why not? but when playing for sucks big time falling out like that. No one here doubts ur abilities m8. keep doing what u know and play only where it gives u satisfaction... no need to change working tactics.

5-8 hours in a tournament, just to get busted somewhere in the top 20 with nothing to show for it. Often less than if you had won a SnG for the same buy-in.
That´s why I kind of avoid Pokerstars, even though I try once in a while in a 3.000-8.000 field. Huge waste of time, unless you can multi them like Doomdy says, but I can´t do more than 3-4 tables or I´m playing garbage. Used to like the large fields on FT, but on PS they are at least 2x as large....crazy stuff!
That´s why you nedd 100 buy-ins for a Tourney, I guess. (Bankrollmanagement). You should get one after so many Tournaments, and 6 months out of your life.
Finally, yes, I agree, the fields are too large, and the payout structure sucks!

You were unlucky but at least you got something at the end. Better playing tournaments with low buy ins in sites that dont have so many players. The prize might be lower but you sure have more chances on finishing in high places. And unless you dont have a bankroll enabling you to rebuy avoid the tournaments with rebuys

I can´t believe any Poker Rooms after 4 years of suckouts. And after the desaster with FT i use only real good bonis. PokerStars is one of the biggest fake rooms ever. But the others are not really better...
Yep, the prize is splitted in a very unfair way ... if you are not in the top 3 your $/h rate is very poor. Otherwise, if you win it's a spectacular boost. You said you were 1st for long time but you don't ask yourself why did you drop this position. I know that sometimes we say when we play MTT we're playing bingo but sometimes we should be critical with our game. You suffer a badbeat but they are part of the game. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Cheer up and always you get ITM is a victory for your game
I like the MTT's at I-poker and Merge much better. Prize pools are good, with only 50-1000 players. $27 is not worth 7 hours of play, except for the experience. Reminds me of the PartyPoker freerolls with 3000 players. I was stupid enough to play for 9 hours, and ended 4th with $15... Never again!
