Yes, I play at Stars...I play MTT's and SnG's...very little cash table and at lower stakes...and I assure you I am very human. So, if your question is directed at me I will tell you now I do not own a bot. I understand them because there are times when I must defend against them as with any other type player. well for me the questions also sound more like "ask your favorite baseballstar whats he doing in his free time or what kind of leisure-time activitys he has" but as long as they dont harm anyone.....who cares. so far i havent seen any really usefull information to detect boting.

------------ its as though retribution wants this info to be suppressed for some reason..this is a relatively new topic and lots of us are hearing of this for the first time .. and i can assure you , there is 0% information in this thread which could assist a person to construct a bot ..so chill out!
The point of this thread is DE-mystifying the pokerbotting phenomena. Allot of online players are constantly shouting about bots, while infact, as some other user mentioned before me. There is very little to be afraid of, as most bots suck even more then the avarage human does. And putting a bot together that does not suck, and outplays above avarage human plrs, on medium+ stake. Seriously takes just as much time from several people, as a full time job does. And it doesnt pay out unless they succeed.
So go figure, multiple people have to work hard together for several months, while not getting paid in the development phase, and serious risk of not getting paid at all. ___________________________________________________________________________ As to more effective ways to exploit bots; I/we could buy a shanky bot license and run several out of the package profiles against poker academy(thus, offline) to get exact statistics on each profile. That way, you can filter them out if you have enough hands in your dbase. And possibly , exploit hem and hunt em down. ___________________________________________________________________________

Wow, retibution lower the hate just a little, you have a point but it's hard for anyone to see through all the rage. As mentioned we still haven't heard to much on how average players can detect a bot.
One time someone at a table called "Bot", when I asked him how he knew he said, "Anyone who's not a bot respond to this message". I don't think that's a very usefull strategy however as multi-tablers are way to busy to chat.

have to say i was having the same sort of emotions as retribution when this thread started,but now i think its a good thing jvd1986 is doing,if it gives us a better idea of how bots work then we can adjust when on a table with a suspect,so please dont lock this thread admin....

Yes. I would totally agree with that absolutely, and my stance would be a lot different on the subject. However, I have yet to see one post by OP that actually gives us real, relevant, useful information.

Seriously, I fail to see how "why did you do it" is not a relevant question to the thread. Dismissing a question like that just proves your disdain for this thread in general. 2. where are bots more likely to be present? full ring/ short handed/ HU
3.how would u put predominant playing style of bots ( including handicapped) in % Tight aggressiv tight passive loose aggressive loose passive
4. what are the things which most of the bots wont do? e.g. sitting in ring games with min stack check-raising min- betting flat betting preflop allins slow playing big hands weird bets - like betting 107 in 600 pot allin at flop for small pots
5.are bots able to change their playin style by themselves in a single session?
6. which country players are most involved in botting?
