yeah but if you get raise and a reraise pre flop dont ya think it is somethimes best to when you dont have a large stack.....even getting the money for another tourny is better than busting on the bubble

if you take the risk and make it in the top 3, then you have enough for the next 10 tournys.
you had a small stack? when did you think to move allin, to double up, if not with ace´s?

thats the time you should be jumping for joy to stick it in
1 your a short stack so your in desperate need for chips 2 you got fucking As man 3 you are still fav to win the hand and get you out the s**t short stack state of affairs you are in
sure the odds go downof you winning the hand and maybe not make a min cash but but as KGB says when the hell are you planing to get it in if not with the best hand. The situation you describe i pray for when im short, raise reraise im shouting yeaa haa show me the money

Folding aces pre is almost never the correct play. I mean sure if you're last to act and say 4 people shove all-in, It may be the correct play since your odds go down exponentially as each player enters the hand, but even with 4 players in the pot, your equity is something like 65%.
You shouldn't be playing to fold into the money. No-one wants to be the bubble boy, but the bubble is where EVERYONE is tightening up to coast into a min-cash, so this is when you need to be super aggressive and build you stack. I'm not saying go all-in with 7-2 off, but folding aces, even on the bubble is almost never the correct play.
All the money in a MTT is in the final table, specifically in the top 3-5, this is where you should be playing for, not for a min-cash. I'd rather bubble 100 times, just to make 1 final table.

I don't remember any special tournament where I folded aces, but I sure sent lots of good hands to the table when I'm close to the money and short staked. After being in the money it's different and always aim to the first.
I think this is just because of the feeling of lost time if we don't get to the money after playing for 1 or 2 hours

Only in very rare cases like in satellites,or when you are super crippled with like 0.1BB or whatever if this gets you the chance to make the money it's +EV to fold as well

Well to be honest I've never found myself in this situation, so I can't say with absolute certainty what I would do. But, I imagine I definitely wouldn't lay them down, I would see it as an opportunity to propel myself way up into the money and really get paid as opposed to folding and hoping to scrape a little.

Posted by Npw123: Cheers guys. I understand all your points, for me it felt like the best thing to do at the time.....good luck on the tables
I want to know do you got money finally ? what rank ? If you have not good bankroll, I agree with your decision. Not easy reach "almost get prize" position but if you not use your chance when you will get 1st prize ?

I have done it in the past and probably i wll do it in the future again (folding to be in the money) In the last year i bubbled twice with pocket AA. In one of these i was pretty deep in the money also. And how i lost? From Pocket AK with str. The other one i didnt have the chips to go deeper in the money but i wasnt the next one to get eliminated either. There were at least 4 players with smaller stack than me.
There was a third time also again on the bubble were i had the aces folded them and another guy lost at that hand with his pocket kings from 888
I have learned the hard way that while Aces is the best hand to go all in preflop sometimes is better to fold them
would you ever fold aces to make sure ya make the money?
no i wouldnt i always go for the win, it more profitable to go for the win than place money in the long run, b1gfoot or doomdy can vouch for this there winning players too after all its only 1 buyin
oh by the way people who would fold aces pre flop are losing players overall imo......... take the hint from a winning poker player

If it is a satalight, yes(assuming its looking very likely you are about to gain that ticket), if I am up against 3+ players in before me,who you know are not folding then yes, I would like a better hand in that spot. other than that i'm all in baby.
