i think what most people said here is true if your better at one type of game just stick to that, why risk going bust if your not comfortable with playing cash games

You can win incrementally with cash games too, right? It's all about restricting the blinds/buy ins. There's a different strategy to the game play but the bank roll management is still key. When I was at Cake I had to play exclusively cash games, I had more variance but a similar rate of growth.

Well said. Obviously there are differences in strategy between cash, SNG and MTT, but in the end it all comes down to bankroll management. Some posters on this forum have readily admitted to playing SNG way over their limits, which is no better than playing cash way over your limit. I think with cash it is a little easier to keep reloading when you are on monkey tilt and blow a big part of your roll, but you could do the same thing with SNG.

After blowing my roll on 888 down to my last $10 exactly a month ago today, I rebuilt with SNG, and when that started to flatten out I started mixing in cash games with great results. The ratio I require for BI to bankroll is now 40:1 because I never want to go back that low again. As I continue to climb back up I might even increase this because I like to feel 100% comfortable when I am sitting at the table.

Ofc u can, cash games are as profitable as any kind of poker if u play it right and want to improve, as all poker it only takes practise and motivation :dd

hi men! if you like to play both cash and SnG you can have two separeted banckrolls, needs a little administration but you can do it writing your resoults on an excel or something like that...

I have done it sometimes myself too. I think its some kind of appetite to get the hands on more money faster that makes us do this kind of things. Good results on regular SnGs making our bankroll going up stair by stair, slowly but always going up, and then: BANG! “Lets go ring this profits and double it in less than a minute! Oh brother, I messed up…”

That's exactly how I lost most of the bankrolls which it took so much time to build. You see that you are doing good on regular basis so you decide to speed things up. Then variance or/and tilt strikes : misfortune guaranteed.

If you are going to play cash game you need the bank Roll .With Bankroll I dont mean your poker Bankroll but your life bankroll ( the value of money for you): I´ve got a relatively big poker bankroll but am only a student and therefor dont have much in the bank. If I play high cash games which I could with my Poker Bankroll I still think of the money I´m betting which causes me to hesitate and play weak. So therefor I play small limits where I dont think of the value of the money, sothat I can call all resonable bets with a drawing hand till the river. Because when my draw comes my opponent will most of the time not fold the river bet which is then potsize or more(looks like a bluff).

I like playing small cash games where I always call with a nut draw, eg.: openender or A high flush- draw. I often call with a pair if no straight or flush is possible in the hope to still hit a set. I make a massive bet on the river which looks like a bluff and very often get called then.I take risks in putting pressure on others and bluffing them out.
I can only do that when the money ( that amount I bet ) doesnt play a role in my mind.
Thats when I start having fun and letting loose running over my opponents.
Hardly anyone tries to bluff me with my agressive image. and when a big bet or raise comes I know he has a monster and can fold. I got them all to play tight while I play loose agressive.

In order to be successful at cash games you must build an image.
I believe tight players dont get much at cash tables because you know when they raise they got something. A Tight image is good for sit´n gos where you want to steal big blinds at a later stage in the game.

Ps: I dont play rag A´s except suited, and always play connectors because they easily give you the nuts, ( hopefully against an overpair). Always playing for the nuts.
