Playing Against Pros  0
My buddy recently played a tournament where a couple of the pros were playing and i was just wondering if anyone else has played against them and if their style of play was changed or if they were intimated by them while playing against them?

i havnt played against pros but id ike to and really tihnk it would be easier than playing everyday people like me and you, atn least if you had a hand and was betting and got raised up youd know he knows what he or she was doing so wouldnt be wasting chips all the time to players who are just callng machines

I may be harder and easier depending on the aspects i mean maybe you've seen the pro play before and think you know his/her game but im sure they will still take more chips from you than a random amateur

depends if ur playing in a tournament or a ring game,i played against pros on fulltilt in tourneys and didnt notice any difference.I even knocked a pro and im waiting for my t-shirt.

It depends on the pro you are playing against. Some pro´s do not take it as seriously as they should sometimes, for example in Full Tilt, Mike Matusow frequently is a bomb waiting to explode and Gus Hansen, well you all know what he is capable of sometimes, so in the end I believe that if you don´t let yourself be intimidated, odds are their play is no different from any other opponent in the tourney.

at the end of the day every hand needs a winner and if you think you have the cards and are not scared to show the chips to back yourself up you will hold your own against them if you let them bully you of course yuoll loose but if you stand up and play them at there own game you can only gain respect from the player and he she will thikn twice for trying to stell a pot from you

That´s right Danny, we whould all remember Chris Moneymaker, knocking out P Ivey, J Chan, S Farha, S Ngyuen in the WSOP. Classic example of this.

hats what im saying people here a big name and then they hide in a corner if your gonna do that its obvious that they will coton on to you and take advantage if you show them you know what your doing and are willing to raise not just call they wil pick another player to bully

What pros are you talking about or like just any pros with the red star or whtever it is beside their name? I don't think I'll ever play against a pro anytime soon.

I wouldnt sit down at a cash table and play against most pros. As far as tournament play they dont intimidate me at all. They get the same cards as everyone else playing .

hmm well that was actually some really good feedback and yea i myself have yet to play against a pro but i dont think i would be too too intimidated by them but i would definatly play abit more cautious and think more about what i was doing (which i should all the time lol but still)

While I have never played in a tournament with a pro, either online or live, my advice would be to play your game and not feel intimidated by them if they happen to be at your table.

If you let them sense weakness then they will walk all over you and take all of the pots you are going after. Pros strive on any sniff of weakness they can get out of a player, and scared money is not going to be winning money.

I've played against a load of pros live and online, cash and tournament. The full tilt mid-stakes named pros are apparently mostly quite bad. Most of them are just famous names who got lucky somewhere and got signed up. Most are pretty bad. Most of the regs are much much better.

However, some of the best players I've ever played against were people you would never had heard of, and never will. Most of the famous names don't have a patch on some guys that play online cash at mid-high stakes.

Generally just adapt to how the player in question is playing.

Most of the pros on fulltilt ( the names in red ) i have never heard of if im honest except for the obvious ones like gus hansen an ivey and as stated most of them are donks lol. I once played in the 200k ultimatebet tourny on the same table as krazykanuck and i really think that guy is a good player. .. If you get a chance watch him killing the $100 SNG on UB... awesome.
