I don’t believe he is broke. Remember that, besides poker, he still has publicity contracts, I bet he can’t even remember from where comes some of the money that enters in his accounts. If he is broke, I am just dust…

No way he would be broke with only FT poker down. Ivey obviously plays on other poker sites along with real tournaments and cash games (eg high stakes poker, where he won quite a few bucks I believe...). The money in FT was surely a small fraction of all his money, no reasonable man would put all of his earnings in a poker account, that's just nonsense.

Phil is and probably will always be far from broke, for the reasons that have already been stated by my fellow BRM'rs. He may be having some liquidity issues, but he's likely as solvent as he needs to be. If he can't pay his alimony now then in 2-3 months he'll probably be back on track . . . just remember that his bankroll isn't the only thing he can't access on Full Tilt, as he also had shares in the company as a capital stockholder.

every few months we have a news that some big pro has gone broke, most of them are just speculation as no1 knows the real bankrolls of these pros. and i think even if he was broke, wouldnt be hard for him to build again.

I remember a story that was later confirmed by participants of Phil Ivey joining a high stakes cash game table on a vegas casino, the game was pot limit omaha.
Phil Ivey's buy in was 100k, he left the table that night with over 1 mil dollars, thats Phil Ivey
