Lost connection due to a fault on the 3 mobile broadband network  0
Hey guys, how we all doin? just want you opinions really.

I was playing on pokerstars and kept loosing connection during hands and been timed out while i was in pots. I have spoke to 3 and they have said that there is a fault they knew about in my postcode but didnt inform me. If id of known about the fault i wouldnt have played for the risk of dissconnection and the losses that i have incurred.

Seen as the fault is only in my postcode and they didnt inform me about the fault, do you think they would pay any copensation to me?

You say 3 so I presume your talking about a mobile connection dodgy at best and 3 have never had great coverage specially out of town, stick with the best BT , you get a good deal if you are a long term customer, customer support second to none in my opinion , there may be cheaper deals but none better ( you get what u pay for), NO I DONT WORK FOR BT, am out in the sticks so dont get there best speeds but there reliable and faults ( 2 in 2 years are promptly dealt with,, plus there hardwear is excellent and replaced no problem if faulty ,

I got money(bill deduction) from virgin after they had a fault, so worth a try....But you must be the only person on that network, they promised so much and failed so hard on the delivery.
I hear when on the 3 network you spend most of your time talking to their support.

You wont get any compensation regarding poker loss. However they can lower your bill for that month like B1gfoot mentioned. I presume it wont be much so i dont know if the effort is worth it for you.

Sad to say, no they wont.. I tried myself having had exactly the same problem and they refused point blank to entertain it.

The reality is they aren't liable. I work for an ISP myself - unless you're paying for a business grade 24/7 connection (expensive) then there is a certain amount of downtime that is within the scope of the contract.

We get customers all the time hassling us for compensation when there is an internet fault that has caused their business to lose XX$ because of downtime of emails / web site / etc.

The reality is, if you're paying for a residential grade service then they would be fully covered in their T&C.

The ONLY reason the might credit back some of your bill as a result of a complaint about the fault is purely so you'll shut-up about it and stop whinging. It's generally far cheaper to chop a bit off a customers bill than it is to deal with an escalated customer complaint, especially if it escalates outside of the telco/isp.

They aren't going to give you $170 for you poker losses, nor should they.
