Running so bad!  0
I really dont know what it is lately but my game run's so bad its ridiculous. I have tried everything but it seems that whatever i do i cant stop the rot, i have tried the short stack strategy, i have tried the big stack strategy, i have tried switching from NL holdem to PL omaha... From MTT to SNG'S , seriously i have tried it all and no matter what the bad run just keeps on gathering momentum.I have been playing for around 2 years now and am usually in profit but that past few month's AGGGH!!!. I have decided that i suck at poker and need some serious work on my game so any advice would be great as im losing faith lately lol. Sad Aww crap!

I know how you must feel I just had a small week with Mr Variance and it's never nice. My experience says that sometimes it's best to take some days of poker cause when you are in a downswing nothing can stop it...I've tried everything to run away from Mr Variance.....you can run but you can't hide forever Smile I've tried to change game cash/tourney I've tried to change site and so on.....nothing changes. Only thing you can do is play as good as you can so you will lose the minimum and will get back in buisness quickly when the downswing is over. Notice everytime you got your money in good and still lost....pad your self on the back cause that is how you normally win in poker. The last week I have been called all-in on turn by str8 draw and flush draws against my set or two pair they got approx 15-25 % chance to win but I have lost 5 out of 5 on 2 days. The weird thing about poker is....that it is the players that are sucking you out now that will pay you off in the long run. Some people hate when there opponent chases a flush/str8-draw but actually we should love them since they approx get it 1 out of 3 times and are willing to pay full stack to see it Smile so as long as we fold when it comes it's a profitable deal.

So cheer up and believe me EVERYBODY get's these evil runs but don't ask me why they allways come in lumps. The best you can do is not tilt and continue playing your A-game. Remember you will get positive runs to build up roll again so remember to valuebet even after a suckout Smile

actually i was on the worst downswing of my life recently and then this one hand changed it lol i stopped playin after this hand so i hope it changed it...

i join a 10 person cash table (which i usually dont do..) folds all the way till about the 6th person who raises 2x the bb i go all in and he folds... (pure bluff)

2nd hand i get KK and same thing happend that same person makes his 2x bb bet so im thinking great ill go all in again and hes gonna tilt and call.... so sure enough i go all in he calls... and shows QJ clubs...

flop comes rag, club club, (so right here im like here we go again..)
turn... club ( could of guessed...)
river... club... i win with a "super" king high flush lol

and thanx to that hand i replinished my bankroll :d

Thanks for the advice turbo, i understand exactly what your saying but as you probably know your self its so frustrating when time after time you get draw out on. I think i will take a few days off poker as you suggest , either that or lose my bankroll and that would be DISASTROUS!

@xxxitalixxx13 if 1 all in can win your money back you were only 1 BI down which could have been lost in either a bad beat or simply bad play but 1 BI down is far from a downswing......downswing varies from a couple of BI's to 10 or more BI's.

I would not recommend bakera playing worse to win more !

hahaha well one would think that i didnt make everything back up there but it did bring my bankroll back to life.. and what happend was i was so sick of my bad beats i said its all or nothing so i sat down with my whole bankroll (what was left of it) and double it.. i never bring my whole stack, which im sure no one else does either

Good luck I hope you run will change no matter what don't step up to win back your money, playing higher than normal with a bad mude/spirit is a very fast way to go broke.

I don't wonna sound rude but if that is your way of beating a downswing it is only a matter of time before your bankroll will die Sad

That has to hurt, in that kind of situation what i usually do is to take a break, take a breather and relax for a week or two, maybe after that, the badluck could have run out.

actually your not being rude at all lol i went into that table knowing i was going to loose the money lol at that point i was just meh about it.. none of it was my money it was from the freeroll because i never deposited any money on that site so i just didnt care... but you are completly correct it was reckless and i did get lucky

Im glad you understand me I was affraid you would take it as an offence to your game....which it wasn't Smile I just ment not even the best pro's can play with total roll since no one can control the ridiculous bad beats we are talking about.
Hehe I gambled with 10$ i won in 10K freeroll last monday at Nordicbet, sat at NL10 with "Total roll" lol 10$ I doubled them and went to NL20 where I made some small pots plus a double up so I went to NL50 with 48$ and lost everything in first hand with KK against QQ who flops a set Tongue
