well someone has to win the title every year, but imo this doesn't tell anything about the quality of the player- because there is no such thing as consistent winner in poker- like let's say in tennis, football etc. how many times did we see the same dude winning player of the year title? how many times did we see the same player winning wsop? and how many times did we see messi winning player of the year award, of federer win australian open...

Ben Lamb deserves this title, the amount of winnings he did last year during WSOP were incredible, his year was a dream in terms of poker career. If he keeps this way, which I believe it is possible, we can be looking at the new MTT guru. If he doesn’t decides to write a book, someone should do it for him, writing all his strategy and advices. It would be a serious candidate to Poker Best Seller – hey, if anyone of you reading this decides to advance with this idea and contact him and publish, don’t forget to write my nickname on the preface and share some of the profits with me, the owner of the idea!!!

Yeah, he seemed like he was a pretty nice kid, but I kinda think some of it was luck. I mean the guy absolutely tanked going into the november 9, he had a big stack and ended up...3rd I think?
I really think Hellmuth shoulda won player of the year. He really seemed to turn things around this year, attitude wise, and played with a lot of heart and determination. I think 2011 was really a change of pace for him, and that alone I think shoulda been enough.
