I love his isolation move. lol.
tuff 1 man! really sucks when that happens. i played a 4$ rebuy and was only 12$ invested and hours deep with my addon and a huge stack. Right before the bubble chip leader makes a bet on my BB and im holding 1010. I call and flop comes q 82. hes sb so he leads out with a pot bet. i figure he doesnt have it so i dive. he called me allin with like 20k chips more then my 80k with J2. j turn j river. the guy did say he was feeling it as i was staring in shock. the win would have gave me almost 200k in chips with the blinds and antes and chip lead in a tourny that paid 1100$ for first and 100 for 9th with 30 ish left.
2 days ago i played in GTD on HPP with first place prize 200€. On the bubble i m 2nd in chips to my right is chip leader. I m in BB and chip leader in SB: Action folds to him and he raises 3 BBs. I m holding 66 and decide to see a flop wich isnt bad when soemone is stealing your blind for 10th time in a row. Flop comes 8 5 5, He makes a continuation bet and i call thinking i ll deal with it on turn if the card is low. Turn shows 4 he raises i shove all-in and guy calls holding K-9. River is K and i m out.
These bad beats are pretty standard in every tournament for me (for everyone i guess). But i figured i shouldnt involve in battle with such agressive donk anyways. But i go for first place every time so i cant help myself. Last month i had so much similar situations on the bubble that i lost count on them. But once luck is on my side i m 2nd minimum.
p.s. To say how important sometimes is to hold your chips instead of playing your cards i ll describe one more situation.
I m ITM 18th people left in tournament and i m chip leader with 78 000 chips. 2nd guy has 25k. I decided to preserve my stack rather than involve in big pots that can cost me more than i can gain. But one guy on the table (had around 18 k in chips) starts going all-in 4 hands in a row. Everyone folds. 5th hand i m in BB holding A-10 and decide i ll call. He had A-Q and i double him up. He continues to go all-in 2 more hands. 2 hands later i get dealt KK and i call him. He holds 10-10 and i m all happy face saying f... you donk infornt of laptop. Right on flop i see a 10 and i m sick to my stomach. I was steaming like never before left with 4k chips. Ofc hand after it went all in and busted... When you look at the whole situation you can realize it s my own fault. One bad call, one unlucky situation and i ve gone from DOMINATION to being biggest donk in the tournament.

Unlucky there with the guy calling 3s4s, even in the freerolls I have seen some pretty good poker being played once you start to get close to the final table. People can dismiss it by saying that you have to expect that when playing freerolls, yet I can't imagine pulling his move after investing probably a couple of hours of time to reach that point. Unlucky.

I lost yesterday when big stack shoved 2 3 suited so yea it happens but the blinds were big and my stack was like 1/8th of his so he was actually doing the right thing...

i think it was just bad luck...i dont understand why buddy called close to the bubble with 34s but wasnt me playing. i just know alotta ppl would call him a donk for playing it but if everyone only played 88-AA 10-A J-A Q-A K-A poker would get pretty boring. i like for switch it up and love hands like 3-4 6-7 8-9 but would NEVER put my stack in close to the bubble with them. unless there was 5-6 callers and i had everyone dominated i may call to see how she goes. anyways bad luck good luck next time.

Good play on your part, 99 easy shove. Seriously, what the hell was that guy thinking, "isolating" with 34s. Brain dead donks like that make me want to bang my head against a wall until I pass out.
Second scenario, with K10, it's really horrible too. But then again, no offense, but open shipping 16bb with AJo MP with 3 limpters isn't that great of a play either. I could see it being viable if you know for a fact the table is super passive and is capable of laying down a hand after limping, but given 90% of the time, SOMEONE is going to call you, you have to re-asses your plan.
