Unfortunately in poker these downswings are going to happen. When they happen to me I change games a little. In stead of playing cash I will do SNG/MTT, or play Omaha or 7STUD, even Rummy, and I find that after a few days my head is clear and I am ready to come back. When you stick with the same formula all the time and never vary, you fall into the trap that Vince Lombardi is famously quoted in saying "Winnning is a habit, unfortunately so is losing." Change things up and break the habit. GL

If you play for a long time there is no way not having such results. Do as mahdrof suggests and if you still are getting so angry that affects your game take a short break of poker completely.

hi peeps im not on tilt (well i dont think so anyway)
im just venting my fury here.my play isnt bad just getting unlucky
my luck should change soon or i might have 2 go on a break soon
mahdrof i play between NLHE and PLO
------------ FUCKIN sitin wi 50K HU, guy had around 6-8K and blinds were 500/1K guy comes back to win
every fucckin hand guy doubles up even though i was ahead and always the fucckin river saves him!! its gettin beyond a fuckin joke now..people keep gettin me on river no matter how far ahead i am!!
The thing is, when you're very unlucky (on a downswing), sometimes you play overagressive when you finally make a solid hand. Just stick to the basics, keep playing YOUR game and luck should come back sooner or later

Just don't tilt fellow Mobster. It happens to all us and when it does it just seems like there's no turning it around. Hell, the other week I couldn't lose on my SnG's. It was great then, and you start thinking wow am I getting better at this or what's going on. TYhen, all of a sudden the downswing comes and takes all those good vibes away. It's not that you changed the way you play, it's just the way the cards are falling. Just stay focused on your game strategies that you have won with and with patience your day or days will be back. Good Luck to All!

The more u want it the more it hurts. I agree with the above poster. Dont let those games get to you. the best thing about them is there is no risk so you can be happy you played well.

Sometimes I think too, that the card dealers are constantly against me... but later cards are my friends

Uhmmm if you keep getting bent over and ass raped, i'm pretty sure you're not playing poker. Maybe you're playing pokehim instead haha.
Jokes aside, getting bent over and ass raped is no joking matter, and has no place at a poker table. If this is happening, I implore you to bring it to the attention of the dealer, providing he's not in on it. If he is, I'd recommend immediately asking for his pit boss. I just hope for your sake the pit boss isn't in on it too, those guys tend to be big fellas

Try changing the chair you have in front of your pc… Now, jokes aside, everyone has tilt moments, and this can probably be one of those times when the best thing to do is not playing for money, because you are thinking it will happen again, you have great expectation in watching the worst coming against you in the tables and it will probably happen. You don’t tell us everything about this hands - I am not questioning if you did right or wrong in playing that way – but was it possible for you to play other way? You probably moved the way you thought it was best in the first times that happened, but after facing that losses more than three times, perhaps in the fourth hand you lost with good hand you were playing and thinking “I bet I’m behind him but let’s see what he has” and when loosing you comments were like “I knew he was better than me, how can this be possible so many times in a row?”. This is common when we lose good hands in a row, but we should not let this feeling take control of us. Keep rational.

some pretty funny comments actually PMSL..
but today played 4 different tourneys 3 of them i had the nuts until the river and guy hit str8 flush and last hand at time of writing had the nut straight and guy rivers quad 6s
this is all after a long break....need some new advice peeps
i think its just not my time for winning i guess...not a good start to 2012..maybe my luck will change and i will win big.
went thru an 8 month session where I thought "they" were inventing ways for me to get beat. I hear you and see me. Everything you've been thru and then some, over and over. I went to strict SSS in NL, the easiest poker strategy out there, and started over from scratch. Added in FL tables to control variance. Took another year to recover. One thing, you'll never forget this experience, it will come back, and next time you'll know the warning signs and start changing up. Realize now that downturn taught me alot about sure things...there aren't very many in Holdem... and the nuts is not the absolute nuts.

it happened to me too...is like u have some happy hours when you are wining with every cards but suddenly u loose with all monster cards. My best example for winning was at aa heads up BB 9 5, he called with KK so i cheched, the plop was K 9 5, he bet a little and i raised he got all in and of course i called, and turn was a 5 and the river was the same a 5. Lucky me and unfortunetly him. But after few hours i turns for me, i had AA and him 55. The flop was Axx, he made all in and called of course, and the turn was 5 and the river the same.I wasn`t so upset because i knew that was happend to me because i won with something the same hands. But when u lost with the same hands most of the time u get angry, cause u say how he can win with this cards, has 0,1% chances for wininigs at it happend.
