Hi mobster,
Im playing 5$ Double up *4 Super turbo's. Now there is always a gut named "rubykon" who plays every single game. The strange thing is : He dont talks back, he only folds or allin(no 3 bet or something) and when there is a sitouter next to him and he is the small blind and the sitouter is the big blind he doesnt even raise but he folds! And i played with him before i went to bed, and this morning he was still playing:O

I doubt he's a bot - not many people do talk back and almost no one who is grinding lots of tables talks back.. If he is just pushing/folding that would indicate it is incredibly unlikely he is a bot - since they can calculate bet-sizing incredibly fast. Pushing/folding would far more likely lean towards somebody playing too many tables and making their own decision a lot easier by just push/fold every hand.

Or a group of people playing all with the same account… folding small blind with big blind sitting out is really strange: doing that once I would think he would be afraid of the sit out player being trying to catch someone doing all-in, now doing that always… its weird. But I cant help you more than this, many things have been said about bots and I have already faced so many players with awkward ways of playing they I think I will never be able to say if I am playing against one or not.

Don't think that's a bot. There are few players in other sites who plays exactly like that, for example Poker770.
From the first site, they look like just some dumb asses, but when you think of it more, it's not that stupid play. They only go all in with good cards and after few shots like that other players just think the push everything without having good cards. Not a bad way to catch donks too who just think they're lucky. Or, they just don't give a dam about the money they loose.

Gutshot is a part of the iPoker Network, so the "Bot" is not only there. But don´t forget, that some players are multitable players and some of them playing a abc-poker style.

Since so many players here say its not a bot and others saying that they have played with him before probably he is not. But dont forget we are talking about iPoker here, which is the paradise for botters .
When multitabling i have folded too hands to sit outs cause didnt have the time to check whos in and whos not

Hi guys!!
Seems a player who plays lots and lots of tables (when someone fold the SB vs a BB sitout = multitables). Lately the push-or fold strategy during all the SnG is a strategy that goes up. I don´t know why..

lol how is this even a thread.. gutshot is on the ipoker network,it's well spread that the network is full of bots..if you play there and hate to play bots so much then just lol... Regardless of that fact, the fact he's playing every game proves nothing. It's very easy to play ~20 tables in a relaxing manner if you are able to make decisions quick and are fast @ clicking/moving mouse (especially if you have a video-game backround, for me thats the case). That you're too busy to chat or dont feel like chatting while playing like this is obvious tho

I agree with you on this pochui. I think I have probably been up against poker bots in the past, especially when a lot of sites had cash tables with a minimum buy-in of 20 big blinds, but they can be beat. My biggeest concern is collusion at the tables, but this is something I consider to be my responsibility to avoid. There are some players that when they are at the same cash table, or have registered for the same SNG, I simply avoid. You have to hope that the poker sites are trying to sniff out these guys, but the best thing is to not enter sit at the table if it doesn't feel right.

Lots of bots lots of sites so what just stay ya course and play the best hands and if you get beat well that's POKER!!!! Pokerstars won't investigate this and neither will any other site as long as they make there $$$$$$$$$ that's all they care about......And if you come across him/her again then don't play in them simple.
Posted by initiator: Thats a multitable player who goes allin with a certane range.
I'm sure you are right about this. But how can this be a winning strategy? If this guy has so many tables open, he can hardly be keeping track of individual players, with anything other than software.
How does he keep from going broke? It should be clear what his range is, after a while; that knowledge alone should amount to being able to play him at a profit, shouldn't it? Only call with an even tighter range, otherwise fold...
Also, if he has a very narrow range, and everyone folds when he shoves, how can he pay for the binds and the rake?
If you know this about him, maybe you can even look for him, and play at the tables he is playing...?
