HELLO all i wanted to ask something about rebuys and add ons when i play at pokerstars you can rebuy and take add on and the money go's in the prize pot now i was playing at an other site and i saw that the money was going into there pockets and the prize money was the whole tournament the same is there any difference between sites because this was the first time i saw it and that i played a tournament where the rebuys and add ons did not go into the prize pot money .

I never played on a site where the rebuy and the addon weren't added to the prize money. But if you play a rebuy/addon tournament with a guranteed prize pool it is possible that the rebuy/addon don't raise the prize money. Buy-in + rebuy + addon have to exceed the guranteed prize money to raise it.

Same thing I was going to say. I can assure you that's the ONLY reason it wouldn't raise the prizepool. No site would be brazen enough to just pocket the rebuy/addon money - it would be such a hugely -EV game that no one would ever play it.

Of course yes, that’s what makes it even more interesting than already is. Imagine a $100 guaranteed with re-buys of $1 and a field of 400, the prize will easily get $150 or $200 just because of the rebuys and add ons. I never heard of something like you just described. For instance, yesterday I played a MTT with points as buy-in and with rebuys and the prize was always increasing.

yeah issi is right. On pokerstars they make a guaranteed pot. But the pot is almost every time more then the guaranteed, so pokerstars isnt adding mony to it.

yes okay fakiry i understand i already understand it the first time when tn111978 did a reply i didn't know that i am new at the poker world and this was the first time i saw that the money from rebuys and add ons did not go in the prize pot because they didn't exceed the guranteed prize money.
BUT the prize money wasn't that high so it would be better if they give it to us all

Never got much into it and i have played rebuys in the past without seeing the prize going up and just thought that site is taking the money. And i found this normal cause there were many guarantees that had an actually loss from the buy ins. Not to far from the real reasoning. Something new also learned today
now i understand what the problem was
