Is it usefull to play rebuy tourney's when you aren't intent to rebuy ??

Nobody cant give you correct answer beacouse of too many "if"s involved.
You can treat a tourney like a freezeout and play like that, but many players wont.

Not at all, unless you like to start a tournament with half the chips that every opponent has at your table.

hello maiju1974 i think it is usefull for me i want to win big money Dollar and i am still improving my strategy and so far i am very happy whit what i am doing........ in the rebuy tournaments there is a time limmit for the players in wich you can rebuy or add on and on pokerstars you have realy good chance to win some money you don't have to be 1st place for good money i try to play realy solid only good premium hands and i fold a lot and try to build my stack and i keep watching the time and the players if you do good about 1 ouhr the fishes have to give up because they have low stack blinds are high no chance to rebuy no add ons anymore and then it go's realy fast and you will see one day you will reach the top

that's how i think about it .....and thinking is not the right word here i am going to do it and i don't give up .......

Personally stopped playing in the rebuys due to the fish. If I would rebuy, it would be one and at the most twice then get the addon of course. It seem's once I've lost my stack twice it's hard for me to play catchup with starting players whom fared well. I've watched players rebuy a dozen times and lose, buyin, go allin and lose some more. That's hard for me to justify and even enjoy playing in rebuys anymore.
Everyone finds the games they enjoy though so not knocking players who like the rebuys. Good Luck to All!

IMHO a lot of the reason it IS worth playing rebuys - is because fish think this ^^ is a good idea.

So, a big NO from me.

it really depends only on you and the strategy you employ- i personally do not rebuy, because i see biggest value in this situation. when you get into th money without rebuys you generally get 10 buyins depending on the tourney of course, so i see this as a great return Sleepy

At first view, one can think it is not a good idea because you will be in disadvantage, but, if things start running well, you will not have to do rebuys and the prize will be bigger than it was when you entered because of other players’ rebuys. I just say you may have to beat the same guy twice I many cases when on that situation. But think with me: those who make rebuys already lost there at least once, so they are fragile, they will go for it at any cost, and, if possible (not in hyper turbo) we just have to wait for the right hand to send them definitely away! I use to enter some of this, but not with high buy-ins (more than $5 to me is high). In those cases, I think its too difficult. Less than that, just fine to go against those who can rebuy.

Cant handle with that tours..

yeah, you get players going all-in with absolute garbage buying in 4 or 5 times just trying to get a good stack by getting lucky. i rebuy once and that's it and if i make it to the add-on i do that as well otherwise your putting too much in and your not getting a good return.if you get in the money at all.

I agree with most of the comments, it depends on you, if you don't mind taking the chance of getting beat with a silly hand when you have a premium one, go for it, but otherwise I don't recommend it. I've seen people going all in every hand, when they have junk every hand, and doing it every hand for the whole hour where rebuys are available, it really is unbelievable what some people are like in rebuy tournaments.

I just wont play them. i can handle 1 re-buy and 1 add on, but unlimited re-buys for the first hour? Nah, not for me you might as well play roulette.

Mm.. they can be pretty good value actually - there are a lot of maniacs that essentially make these very +EV to play..If you happen to catch a few premium hands AA/KK/QQ/AK in the first hour and they hold you can build an absolute monster stack thanks to all the loose calls / allins.

The only thing is to make sure you adjust your BRM accordingly.. Entering a $5 rebuy is not the same as entering a $5 freeze-out and requires a much larger BR.

I wish you all the best with your ticket.
Its one of those that can get you some good money if you get a little lucky with the hands dealt.

Dont worry about the rebuys. Play a lillte tight game in order to be in the money first and then
attack them Smile

like mober said, dont sweat the rebuys.

Be very selective with your hands tho and the spots u play them. Ideally you'll get AA in late position with two raises and u can just dive and hopefully hold. Because you arent willing to rebuy u may have to make some big laydowns early, ie AQ or worse and small pp.

Becuase its such a high stakes game it may be alot tighter then ur used to. Which is fine. There will be alot of spots to steal then. Just be wary of utg limps and if you raise and someone min raises you back DO NOT reraise or dive with less then AA.

Oh also i have a video somewhere in my blog that shows the hands i played in a 100k gtd game. If you have the time i suggest watching it not for me but for the others in the video.

I hope you do well and enjoy yourself. Also if you dont get hands early be greatful. You want hands to come later in the game when the cost to play is greater.

Thats how I play them. I won´t rebuy, I am just playing tight and wait for monster hand and will try to let the maniacs build my stack, lol.
Sometimes it works this way.
Depending on the situation / my stack, I will maybe get the addon.

There are some players who use the rebuy option too often.
I can say they are abusing that option.
In 5 places getting paid for example 15 players still in the game and the money
invested in rebuys are that much that he/she needs to finish at least second.
Even though that player finishes often in the money, he/she does this a lot.
Which is stupid.

If you are not willing to rebuy at such tourneys as migo said add on is probably the best
if you manage to reach that phase.

Most dead money at rebuys imo, easy money Worship
