"PokerStars today announced MicroMillions, the most affordable and inclusive online poker tournament series to date. It will enable poker players of all abilities and stakes to win huge prize money for a tiny outlay. The online series takes place from March 15-25, features 100 events and has $5,000,000 in tournament guarantees.
Specifically aimed at recreational and micro stakes players, but with guaranteed prizes large enough to attract players from all levels, MicroMillions has buy-ins starting at just 11 cents, daily $1 tourneys offering up to $100,000 guaranteed, as well as dozens of $2, $3, $4, $5, $8 and $10 tourneys and a $22 Main Event that features a $1 million guarantee on March 25.
Events will run around the clock, meaning that players from all over the world will have the chance to turn just a few dollars into thousands. Tournaments run at the following times on virtually every day: 01.30, 04.00, 06.00, 08.30, 10.00, 12.00, 13.30, 15.30, 17.00 and 21.00 (all times ET).
Team PokerStars Pro Lex Veldhuis said: “MicroMillions is one of the best things I’ve seen so far. Back when I played penny and micro-stakes games, I was mesmerised by the big tournament series’ and always hoped to be able to play one day. MicroMillions actually offers players from those stakes the chance to be part of a great tournament series. I think it's a very logical step with all the different online tournament festivals that PokerStars offers. I'm definitely going to play a lot of the events, just because I think it's so awesome.”
While the majority of MicroMillions events are No Limit Hold’em, there are also plenty of other games, including Pot Limit Omaha, Omaha Hi/Lo, Draw, Stud, 8-Game, and formats including Turbo, Rebuy, Shootout, Knockout, Big Ante and 6-Max.
The MicroMillions series extends PokerStars’ online festival offerings, which already includes the richest and most prestigious series in online poker – the World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) – along with the Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP), and the Turbo Championship of Online Poker (TCOOP).

Pokerstars is moving its attention to the micro players, and this is very good to read. If we think about the millions of players around there, we have to remember that 90% (I believe so) plays micro levels, which means they are the biggest part of the regulars in those rooms. I use to think about a project. If a football stadium sell game tickets at $50 and can only get 1,000 spectators per week, wouldn’t it be better if the sell it for $10 and get 20,000 spectators per week? This is what PS is doing, showing its appreciation for the players at micro levels.

Nice to see a poker site organizing such an event where the smaller players have the opportunity of hitting big. That will make it easier and cheaper for the High players to get their hands to some decent money

this is a nice event. With a few dollar you can win a lot. I guess there will be a lot of people playing and so the pricepool will grow and will produce a huge pot with nice prices. Godd luck to all and perhaps we'll see us at the table

i always like to see more offers for the micro players- they are the biggest crowd out there for sure, so why not giving them what they deserve? more attention, more tournaments, smaller buy ins, more beer, cheaper babes, private plane, villa's in the bahamas and so on

The real nice thing for Micro players would be to have different raking system so that clearing a bonus is easier. Its almost impossible to clear any bonus while playing at micros these days at all the sites using the weighted contributed.
