Percentage of freeroll money that goes to password thieves  0
I was wondering how much of the freeroll prizemoney goes to password thieves.

Now that the Party Poker leaderbord is still short (only 10 tournaments played), i decided to find out:

There are 10 tournaments played at $25 a piece. The sum of all prizes allocated to BRM members is $140.12

So for every tournament about $14 goes to BRM members, which is 56%.

44% is stolen.

Of course the sample size is small, but as soon as there are more than 200 people on the leaderboard, the calculation is no longer possible...

I'm not sure if 10 tournaments is even true; the import is from Sunday 4 march; it mentions 10 ID's, but by that time 18 were played... So it might be worse (69% stolen)...

Edit: It looks like 12 tournaments were imported (1 and 2 march): so 53% is stolen...

Interesting Statistics. Smile

Don't forget that a number of people will be members of BRM (kind of), and not have registered for the leaderboard.
They just sign up for the passwords.
Hard to calculate a % of those.

Still....interesting. Not much to be done about it though...

Very interesting, never thought about it this way.
But I guess for sure 1/3 of the price money is stolen, even if some members haven´t registered for the leaderboard.

There must be a way that BRM can isolate the passwords to BRM members or isolate entry by tracking BRM members on the respective poker clients to prevent non BRM members getting the passwords from Social Network sites. I saw one site the other day that promoted itself as the site to get any password........ true enough, all of the main player sites freeroll passwords were there!

The only way I think is for BRM to protect itself and members by tracking, but then I guess there will be an on cost to that which defeats the object of the promos.

Keep thinking BRM and keep up the good work.

I think we shouldnt put too much attention in these freerolls. What i mean is that they are nice to play and pass a little time but we cant take them too serious.

Hi Marqis I agree with you 100%, I join and participate at a lot of sites so I can get the password to play in their freerolls , and I have seen passwords for freerolls on sites like facebook etc from sites where I've had to take a survey or some other type of participation event just to get the passwords and some donkey will post it so anyone can play, dont these donkeys realize that they are making harder on their selves to make any money by allowing anyone to play.

They need our attention because they are something made to improve the community that ought to be only for community members. Although they are freerolls, although they have low prizes, they represent an effort from BRM to its members which is being stolen.

I thought that 100 percent of the prite money goes into the tourney prizepool. Its good, when only bmob members can win. But it was better when the next places get the money from the "outsiders".

easy to fix... release the password 2 min before the tournament starts Evil

Yes , I also thought about that Big Smile , but also with no extended registration , so please , an admin take a look on this thread ,and consider releasing the password 2 min before the tournament starts , and with no late registration .

I very much agree with the less time to sign up as I am always ready to go on given times as I imagine other BRM members are no late registration and make it click click fast so that there isnt time for these idiots to post on FB.... your still going to have the jackass sitting by phones telling people etc.. but it is an effort to minimize the rift raft from getting in, Also to those who post it on public forums I hope very much BRM finds a way to ban all of you from this site your probably not reading this and probably not active in our community anyways BUT STOP

Love BRM

True - i agree that sure it is 'JUST' a freeroll, but it represents something of the site and its members.

There's a little bit of prestige to be up near the top of the leaderboard.

Why should there be freeloaders?

Maybe. I don't know how long it takes before these passwords appear on these sites, at the moment, but there is no reason why it should take more than 30 seconds.

It would be interesting to do an experiment though, to see how effective this would be.

Another way would be for someone with access to these sites to look at the time between the release of the password, and the appearance on these sites, so far.

Personally I do have a problem with this, sometimes I register while still at work, then get home with the tournament already running, so I would actually like more than 15 minutes to register.
