it really gets on my nerves that a player registers and then sits out leaving the tables all a sundry this being the case can nothing be done to make it a rule that after say ten hand the players chips are all put into the next pot and this will deter others from wasting time.

I don't understand why it bothers you?
When a player is sitting out, that doesn't slow things down, it speeds things up. + extra chips to be collected on blinds and such. Don't see the problem.
On "some" sites (very few), they unregister those sitting out after a number of hands. But Party and PS won't do that IMO.

no matter how many times people post this across various poker forums, I always get a laugh from it. Anyway - just to be very clear - I am always quite happy to see people sitting out at my tables!

No kidding!
I sat at a table with one other player a long time ago. We just agreed to split the Blinds each in turn.
More than tripled up by the time we were moved to another table. Nice and easy.

Lol, it bothers you ? I am always happy to see one or two people (especially left from me) who are sitting out. Very nice additional chips. I had once the situation on a smaller site (ComeOn poker) that I was the only one at the table. Very funny. Unfortunately after a few minutes seating was changed and one outsitter was gone and an active player came in. But until this it was crazy, lol

Some nice site has gave me money for not playing($100), go figure, so went and played a quick 10 DoN, it started with 3 sit outs, who all made it to the final 5 LOL, one guy got a little carried away with the AI blind steal(6 men in), when one sit out was always going to lose, instead it was him when his 4 10s ran in to KK(not me) I PMSL. Anyway, the pay, they can play however they like.

I dont mind either. The more there are the happier i am and easier to get some chips for nothing. It has happened before being the only one at the table playing and got all their chips by simply betting each hand, and a few other times when only another player was online, so either we split up or we play for the one standing and getting the rest of the chips

Yeah, no complaints about sit outs here either lol. My favourite opponent.
Also agree with B1gfoot, once a player pays (or qualifies as it may be) he has earned the right to play however he chooses, sitting out included. Definitely doesn't slow things up, accept for maybe if there's only 2 people left in the tourney, in which case you've won so you should be happy.

i had sometime's mtt's whit all players sitting out for a very long time the only thing i had to do is raise and click very fast on the don't show cards button that brought me several time's high in the list or even better some mtts start whit very low BB... SB so i had same as the chipleader or even better of the mtt and if the blinds are so low this is much faster if its fixed limmit and sometimes even faster then no limmit if you have luck so don't know the problem but i think you will change your mind after reading all this threads

Hi guys!!
I don´t think is a problem. Every player sitout is one player who don´t fight for the chips, don´t fight for be ITM, don´t fight to win the MTT. He do the play more slow? who cares, not me.

It’s not wasting time, it can even mean a bonus if an online players sits at a table full of sit down players for a long time, always getting all those blinds. When I used to play freerolls at 888 during afternoon weekdays, I experienced that for several times. It can also happen that we sit with a few others and things don’t run well and we end up the tourney before a sit out player but, hey, that’s the game!

Of course, more chips for you, less for them!
What's the problem linz? You can sit out untill they sit in if it bothers you so much...

well i have nothing against that- what you basically get is short handed table, and i see no advantage/disadvantage of seeing some dudes sitting out- what i find a bit odd is when no one is playing for a while- you just keep collecting the blinds- that seems fine, but since the blinds are small at the beginning it becomes a very boring task

Everest Poker deregister all players in freerolls after 10 minutes when they are on sitout. But generally this is not a problem, because all sitout-players are blindet out after a while...

Everest poker if you play freerolls or qualifiers and you lose your connection for some time they will still kick you out of the tourney, even if you were active from the very first moment.
