Being the posts on here in regards to cheating I thought it may be interesting to do a poll to see how many cheat at poker. You don't have to comment ,( cause you not only would be a cheater but stupid too), that you have or what you did.
For the daft ones who are not sure what the meaning of cheating is , here the definition

I think it's pretty hard to cheat offline , and probably dlkiv was refering to cheating like making so that another player lasts more in a tournament , going easy on him ,or stuff like that.

Well, offline you can borrow a few chips from your mates when they go to the toilet, or you can sneak a peak at their cards when they're not looking - neither is easy to do online

I play 99% live dear and have seen it there as well.
I really love it when they are caught in live games as some have had their asses literally kicked.

I was once playing with friends on the last school day just for fun and someone shuffeled the cards so that i had full house and the other one had a royal flush but that was the only time i saw someone cheating and it was someone who was already out of the game

No, I have never dealt cards over black coffee to view its reflection.
I have only ever cheated once, and that was a honest mistake, playing with a few friends we shown cards, for some reason I thought id won(cant remember hand, long time back) so swooped the chips, anyway a few seconds later I thought about the hand and it should have been split pot, no one else noticed and all the money went on beer and pizzas anyway(as always), so not that bad.

So I name and shame myself
Haha, epic!
dlkiv, do you consider seeing a card you were not supposed to see and not saying you've seen it as cheating? For example the bottom card of the deck while the dealer is dealing. Or maybe even someone's hand!!

I too would like to confess. While I would never premeditate cheating and deliberately set out to play deviously I did the other day sneak a peak at another player's cards. I didn't deliberately try and look but the player sat next to me wasn't being very careful with his cards and I saw a dark Ace and another dark card.
Now normally I would mention it to the player in question but I had already called and now this player was raising so if I said anything, one of our hands would be dead. So I admit although I'm not proud of this I took advantage of the situation. The flop came all hearts and I made a pair of kings. I checked and my opponent bet out. At this point I figured that if I shoved there was no way my opponent could call as he didn't have a heart so whereas normally I would have folded I used the information gifted to me.
I felt a little guilty afterwards but I didn't set out to cheat. And I couldn't say anything afterwards as it would make the situation worse. There, glad I got that off my chest.

ye aint trying unless yer cheating.
Someone not protecting their hand isnt cheating.
i played at fallsview a few times and one night after a trip the the Bare Fax or whatever the place is called i went to the poker room and was looking forward to a bit grind. First hand im feeling pretty clever and i raise into a pot with two other players. At the end of the hand the person says two pairs and i say thats no good. he mucks the cards and i throw over my busted flush. everyone goes apeshit and the guy who mucked his cards grabs his cards and flips them showing top two. I say guess u won but the dealer hands me the chips. Allegedly once u muck ur cards ur fooked there and i felt bad but i was drunk enough and he looked rich enough where i wasnt gonna offer him the money back.
i actually regretted how things turned out there once i was back in the hotel room. All the same i think if the rules are similar its actually a viable play since it is dependant on the other player being more aware.
u may get a punch in the nose upon exit so im not condoning this move at all.

I almost never play live and when i do its just a friends game so if i cheat there i'll blame the beer
On-line there was one occasion on which some guy that spoke my language, tried to team up with me to kick some other guy out when we were just 3 handed. I remember thinking wtf is wrong with him lol. i mean, we're already in the money and he wants to cheat over a $0,50 buy-in stg?!? Some ppl just have no moral boundaries i guess. Takes the fun in winning in my opinion.
never cheated intentionally. i did see someone's cards once. but he was waving them about 18 inches in front of his face.... so it was more his fault. i wasnt in the hand though.
