You too man. Anyone who wants to rail, get ur butts in fast, starts in 12 minutes.
It's all about the celebrity drawing power man
Btw sorry about the blinds, I'll fix that for the second and 3rd match if we need it.
PS, we're in the midst of a wicked thunderstorm, and even though I have a UPS, I may lose power, so if I dissapear that's why.
hehe
Canadian VS Australian doesn't exactly make for good Euro-Prime-Time television!
------------ After a very short 1st match, where jess snapped called my 4bet shove with him 10/10 vs me qjs, and him flopping trips, and turning quads, we played out the 2nd match.
Second match, I had him down to around 7BB, but he battled back and fought hard. Alas we got it all in pre A6 him vs A4 me and I hit a 4 and held.
3rd match is in 22 mins. We will soon find out who the HU champion of BRM is.
------------ Well, that was an absolutely gross finish. I DID NOT deserve to win that match to be completely honest. Here's the hand that ended the tourney. To be fair, the min-re-raise pre by me was completely a mis-click. Meant to just call.

------------ Tony, go ahead and lock up this thread and merge all the sister XX vs YY threads this spawned.
I wanna thank everyone for participating, I really hope everyone had as much fun playing as I did running it all. I really enjoyed putting this together for everyone and hopefully we can do this again in the future, perhaps in a more expidited fashion lol.

Congratulations Retribution! You had the great idea of creating this tourney and you ended up being the winner... was this rigged? I haven't played against you but had tried the expertise of Jessthehuman and i only won him a game, so if you managed to win two games in three that you played against him, that must mean you know what you are doing at the HU tables.

congratulations retribution on becoming the inaugral brm hu champion and commiserations to jesse as you would have been a worthy champ as well. thanks for getting it up and running retribution and well done once more.
Posted by retribution: I was figuring it was around 1%, if not less that that OTF. Keep meaning to run it through poker stove, but didn't get around to it.
I still feel terrible it ended that way
Don't feel terrible. Feel proud! You won all your matches. That can't be all luck (well it can, but I'm sure it wasn't). Give yourself full credit for doing that!
Granted that final hand was incredibly lucky, but you're entitled to have some luck, as much as the next guy.

Yeah - there's a lot of interest in another - I think there will - maybe a different format though - and possibly a better structure (like we ALL play in the same PS home games club for example) - so we can try and keep it a bit more organised and keep the pace going a bit faster.. This one took forever, largely my fault

I guess it'd all depend on whether tony was willing to facilitate it, with the point transfers and what not.
I'd definitely be keen on doing another one, and like jess said, do just a few things a bit different.
One thing I was thinking, was figuring out what time zones everyone is in before we make the matchups, and try and group people so that they'd be as close together timewise as possible. This would make scheduling matches easier, at least until the final matchups anyways.
I don't think there was anything overly wrong with how long this one took, it's understandable given the huge gap there was in peoples time zones, and that's kind of unavoidable.
I liked the HU format personally, but I think next time we'd need to be stricter on what blind format we play. Also, perhaps up the buyin a bit, say to 2-300. It's still not a big amount, and it'd make a juicy prize pool
