I dont play much on pokerstars, reason, too much traffic. Anyway i do like the look of the big GTD's so to save me trawling through all the mtt's trying to find the right one, can anyone point me in the right direction.

Most importante thing is how much buyins you have in your bankroll. Bankroll managment is a very important part of poker and you should take it into account. You may have in your bankroll at least 50 times the value of the buyin so as not to be feel pressured.
Then you must play very tight on 3 or 4 first blind levels, when you will see more fishes in the tables. At middle stage you may open up your range of cards with which you play, and when being ITM maybe more.

I suggest to play the 4.40 $ , 180 players , SNG , not so many donks in it(if u don't like playing against them ) , 1st place is 203 $ , 2nd 147 $ , and etc , it's the best way to build a bankroll , with less players , if you try mtt , you have a field of at least 2000 players , depending on the stakes , if u play low , or medium , there are about 500 , but of course u must be aware of bankroll management.

Yeh I know all about Bankroll Management!! But my Stratergy is a bit different and unconventional. I mainly play on 3 sites but only deposit when there is a bonus to be had, play through and withdraw to my e-wallet. The other sites i play are for the big money i either sat in or buy in direct, i have had some good results, but never played in a pokerstars big gtd, alex $203 for 1st mmm looking for a lot bigger matey. After black friday i wont leave more than £/$ 50 in any site after loosing $3000. Its just too much time to look thru pokerstars for the right one even the filters dont give me what i want. Never mind i will try Sky Pokers Roller on Sunday instead.
