Craziest Satellite ever  0
I never play PS, but decided to try for the Event 39-L on the last day of Scoop sunday.
It's the Low $109 buy-in 1 Million GTD Satellite. ($1.01 Rebuy)
(the biggest one is $10.500 buy-in 2.5 Million GTD)

Anyways....WTF ??

90 min rebuy period, and for 90 min there were no less than 3 to 6 all-ins EVERY hand. Shock
Some people must have spent at least $30-40 on rebuys. Shock (morons really)
Anybody and everybody went all-in with absolutely anything, and then did a double rebuy.
Over and over and over....
23o 62o j3o, you name it. Anything.

I managed to be 3rd somehow after an hour before I realised the rebuy period was another 30 min. lol Really screwed me over that.
Even in 3rd with still 250 players left I had no more than 18 BB because it was Turbo blinds. Crazy stuff.
Needless to say I busted out in 40th more or less. Total crapshoot.
Damn! the seats ran to 28th in the end so I just missed it.

Only cost me one buy-in and 1 add-on (30.000 chips), so I'll have another go tomorrow because they seem to run 4 to 5 times a day. Fun but nuts! Blink

So for those of you complaining about the Donkish freerolls, why not give this one a shot?
SO much worse... Blink

well these kind of satellites are made for pure gamblers who care for poker no more than a hippo Big Smile so if you consider yourself being a poker player you should consider avoiding those, unless they are heads up satellites...anyways nice go still, sometimes these donkfests are a good way to distract yourself from serious poker

Thats the problem with the rebuys.
There are players that they are all in with every single stupid hand they get trying to build a stack.
So unless you are going to rebuy you must be pretty lucky to last long till the prizes.

I wish you better luck today

Yes, the rebuy-tourneys there are verry crazy. And the late registration period is more than 90 minutes, certainly 96 minutes or more. I like the bonanza fpp rebuy tourneys but like you say: in every hand are 3-4 player allin with nothing.

wow, talk about donkament. I would probably avoid this tourny. Im not the biggest fan of PS. I feel like most of their low stakes tournament formats aren't very great.

I'll strill give it a shot later today. After all, if you can luck out on a $109 seat for a few $ it's worth it. And if not, oh well, I tried.
There are also some $3-4 rebuys, maybe I'll try one of those as well tonight?
Only have $50 there and not planning to deposit anytime soon, but I might just blow most of it today trying to get in. Big Smile

i play those rebuys all the time on stars ,,especialy the ones that have a 30k ad-on..

but i enter these tournaments on the last minute of registration...so mostly after 44 or 59 minutes...

then try to hold on my chips untill add-on time...have had some 1rst prizes many times...

109$-----215$----320$ oh yeah 55$ for 0.55$ buy-inn...

A waste of time entirely.

You don't learn anything whatsoever, any edge a good player has vanishes, and it's pure gambling, no skill.

Why bother?

How you been Jack? Haven't seen you in the forum lately! Anyway, I've tried some of the lower buyin tournaments with rebuys and have seen some really crazy players. It's unreal that someone would keep going allin, rebuy and repeat themselves over and over again. When does it become nonsense? I can't even play in them anymore, but used to try before I learned my lesson. I'm sure someone with patience and experience can last, but I get beat down like a poor boy every time. Great post though! You bring stories to life the way you tell them! I enjoy that by a lot of you Mobsters. good Luck!

Sounds like a plan.
I'll try it that way next time. seems to be no use building up a big stack only to lose it to suckouts again and again.
Thanks for the tip. Blink

Guess you didn't read the post or just didn't get it.
A Satellite is not to "learn" anything. It's to get a ticket for a tournament too expensive to buy into.

Why bother?
Same answer. Blink

the biggest b...sh.t I have ever seen in poker. This satellit tourneys are stupid. I don't know why there are people who play them. I also played once a few time ago. And this is not poker, this is gambling. The luckiest and not the best wins the seat. really stupid thing

Well, I'm not lucky today. Big Smile
Also trying a $4 rebuy Qualifier, but it's the same, you ALWAYS get called, so all-in or nothing.
Either you get the cards and hit the board or you don't.

Today I'm not hitting anything, so I'll soon be out of the last remaining 2 I can play today, and that will be about $30 for nothing.
Oh well, next Scoop event then...

If you are lucky enough, and you get a rebuy, add on, if you are stacked at the end
of the rebuy time, it may be great value for the ticket you are going to win.

And yes too many players gambling it to the max, but if they get a profit at the end
from the buy in, they are trying to get the ticket, why not.
