Official PKR Final Table Thread  0
This is the official PKR final table thread, if you make a final table at PKR reply here.
Doesnt matter if its low roller or high roller, just put it in.

I noticed there are quite some people from BRM playing at PKR so here is a PKR thread only Agree

------------
I start, won the break thru, only 27 runners, $5 buyin, payout $33, not a biggy though Agree

------------
I have no FT to add, played couple MTTs but have to admit i played terrible, absolutely no patience which is the main thing to do well in tourneys imo.
Ill try again today Cool

I played terrible yesterday as well, bubbled once but the blinds went up fast started really good at start then the cards didn't came and had to gamble because of the blinds. Busted as the bubble. Then joined the pkr open but joining up was my main mistake, because i was way to tired to play. My own fault, shouldn't have listened to my friend who wanted company in de 500 pkr freeroll Tongue.

Had a medium sized session today. No fantastic results, technically a few "final tables" but they were very small fields. I think I ended up about $30 profit for the session.

14 Jun, 2012 Shanghai Nights (Speed) NL Hold'em $22 5 of 60 $96
13 Jun, 2012 Break Thru NL Hold'em $5.50 3 of 16 $20
13 Jun, 2012 The Lock-In (Rebuy) NL Hold'em $3.15 10 of 86 $20
13 Jun, 2012 Deeper & Steeper NL Hold'em $13 20 of 146 $23

------------
Probably play a couple more later.. so.. update coming.. ????

Is PKR pretty soft then?

I joined there maybe 6 years ago but didn't like the whole animated B/s that came with it, but I wasn't much of a player then anyway.

Those tourneys looks nice Jesse, the low field numbers: due to you playing with a big time difference in relation to a lot of people?

Yes, mostly. I mean - the traffic at PKR has dropped significantly as well, but certainly the 'prime time' (euro time) games have bigger fields.. Sometimes I will wake up early, like 3am or so - and play a big session with all the euro games.

But yeah, during Australian day/evening - the numbers on site are pretty low. Around the times I played those games there was probably a total of 1500 online.

todays session:

17 Jun, 2012 Maple Leaf Open NL Hold'em $12 13 of 104 $20
16 Jun, 2012 Once Upon A Grind In China (Rebuy) NL Hold'em $3.50 19 of 133 $12
16 Jun, 2012 Late Night (6 seater) NL Hold'em $33 4 of 84 $226

Was kind of disappointing : I was coming second in the Maple Leaf when there was 13 players left lol - I lost a massive hand QQ vs AK Sad Went from almost guaranteed FT place - to having about 4bb left, which I shoved with A8 into 1010 and 10s held). Anyway, ended up around $120 profit for the morning. So was at least a profitable session.

Took on a Uni-level maths unit this study period, haven't done 'real maths' since year 10 (which was about 14yrs ago) so it's pretty full-on. Have an assignment due today. So need to get onto that. I've completed about half - if I can get the other half finished early enough, I'll try and put in an evening session tonight as well - although, I have early start at work tomorrow, so no late nights.

Anyway - anyone else gonna post in this thread or what? /bringiton

Yeah man, doesn't take much to go from hero to zero. Like with me in the Maple- I could practically taste the bink already with 13 remaining, I would have bet my account balance on making the FT lol.

Late-Night FT - this donk kept doing these giant 4X raises (with 4 players remaining, giant blinds, everyone doing about 2.2X at this stage) - he was doing it a LOT with a wide range, I pick up a small PP, 44 I think, he opens for about 4bb I have a 30bb stack folds to me, I ship it, he snap-calls A-5os and flops the 5 lol. Completely leveled myself - I break that golden rule soooooo often - never bluff a fish/donkey.

Well, i played many MTTs, wanted to try new shedule, very nice for me, playing more for fun so multitabling is nice with so many MTTs.
Could have go deep in so many tourneys but it was one of those days, holdem/omaha/omaha h/l it didnt matter all my monsters got beat, worst one was being 2nd with KK underthegun raise standard chipleader put me allin with A9, obs ace offcourse.
Anyway had fun, good shedule imho, allways some tourney to play, not many over $20ish, but maybe future they will put more middles on.

Mmm.. The more I look at the new schedule, the more I like it.. I am keen to see the other "30%" of the schedule as they put it.. Particularly games around $20-$50. I rarely play the $50+ games, unless I've had a big bink or something and want to take a shot.

But I *DO* like to play as many $20-$30 games as possible, they fit my bankroll pretty well generally. And I don't mind the odd $50 as well - particular the good value ones, like I used to enjoy the Sunday Canadian Super Deep:

$55 entry - 20K starting stack, 15min blinds start at 10/20 - was an 8-9 hour game and you really got some pretty good value for your bucks.. Also - the Canadian Open games are always full of easy marks - either UK/EU sharks up too late (very tired/drunk/high) otherwise just some random Canadian fish ( Tongue Tongue ). Most of the real competition came from the aussie grinders, considering it ran from around 11am Aussie sunday - if you have nothing to do on the east coast of Australia on a sunday, it was the perfect way to kill the day. Hoping for something like that again !!!

Also - just finished my maths assignment :O :O that was pretty hectic.. Been a while since I've done 'real' maths. Done my head in a bit, lucky I bought the stupid $180 text book lol.

Not sure I can play an evening session of MTTs though - pretty mentally drained.. Work tomorrow.. So probably no updates from me in this thread for another 48hrs.. Then I'll post some more binks Blink

Todays takings:

20 Jun, 2012 Vegas Nights (1R or 1A, Speed) NL Hold'em $12 9 of 101 $54
20 Jun, 2012 Primetime - Terminator NL Hold'em $30 17 of 165 $89
20 Jun, 2012 The Prestige (6 Seater) NL Hold'em $100 2 of 59 $973
20 Jun, 2012 Welllbet's Home Game NL Hold'em $30 4 of 85 $220

All in all pretty good. Was bummed out a bit not to win The Prestige - when the final table started I had a Cl of 4:1 over the next closest.. But final table ran about 2.5hrs and the competition was extremely stiff. In the end I lost to a very very good player so I have to be happy about getting that far any how. Even though it only had 59 runners - don't be fooled - this is PKRs finest playing. The game ran for nearly 7hrs and there were some really good MTT sharks playing, so i was fairly chuffed to hit the final table.

Had a bit of a soul-crushing moment in the Monte- Carlo which is an 8 seater $75 buyin event. I busted 12th and top 10 were paid. Also - with 15 to go I was 2nd in chips and thought I could cruise to the final table. Had a bit of a major slip up and nearly got stacked completely. and was sitting 15/15 for a bit - then I recovered a bit when I got lucky allin pre with my AQs vs AKo and flopped nut flush. That left me about 20bb and sitting about 9/15. Anyway - I eneded up sharing the bubble I think I got 12th and other guy 11th - both busted in the same hand. I'm really not sure I played it right.

I am pretty tired - I slept from Midnight - 2am (so 2hrs sleep) then i got up and played from 2am until now (nearly 11am).

When I wake up again later and can be bothered I'll post the hand I busted from the Monte with - the more I think about it the more I think maybe I could have avoided it.

Had a few other near-misses with final tables - but overall made around $1K for the morning.. so can sleep well Agree

------------
OK

This is me busting from the Monte Carlo - right on the bubble, literally this is the hand that made everyone else get paid.

Now - please keep in mind - I play to win, I don't ever fold a spot that I would normally call/raise just because I am close to the money and I'm not interested in opinions that are based around that - because its a losing idea.

I do however think that I made a mistake - I'll point out the mistake after anyone else comments (if anyone else does of course.

so this is final 12 (8s tables) - top 10 paid, $75 BI tourney.

OK and just for lulz - this is me losing the HU of the Prestige - this is a complete train wreck. I played this hand like a complete spazz. Bare in mind - this is nearly 11am, I've been up since 2am drinking heavily and also taking xanax ( smile for those who know what xanax is). I knew I was fucked when I shoved and I kinda just wanted it to end - and I could finally put my head on a pillow.

Anyway - don't really need anyone telling me how I went wrong - I did about a million things wrong here. I think it does illustrate the pitfalls of playing prime time euro games when you are in upside down land. This was a 7hr tourney, the FT alone played for about 2.5hrs, I played really well the whole way through -0 controlled, thoughtful aggression. Including making a sick call literally on the bubble (top 9 were paid - when there was 10 left I called a river shove for my tourney life with 99 on a board with straights and flushes possible, plus two cards over my 9s. But it smelt like BS. Basically destroyed the guys stack going past the bubble and put myself in 2nd place. I was sweating like a mother fucker making the call, I really didn't want to bubble a $100BI game lol, when I had a pretty good stack anyway (was sitting about 4/10) .

Anyway - here is me being a complete spazz and losing the HU (~$1k for 2nd VS $1.6K for 1st).

The AT hand: You know 100% the big is gonna call you, but thats no problem, wud you play this on a $1 game? Yes, on a $5 game? Yes, on a $10 game? Yes, $25 game? Problably Yes, now its a the Monte with $75 buyin and you doubt the right play, for sure is EV+ play with these huge blinds.
AT with these blinds is a absolute monster imo, if a middle stack or shorty makes a move before us i fold but the big makes a move i shove here, for me kind standard, sometimes i froze in these situations and become the nit '''DoN'' player and fold, which imho is a bad fold.
Imo well played sir Thumbs Up

Hand against Elz: Wow its Elz btw, she cannot loose wtf, imo best female player on PKR, better then welllbet, btw i wud fold this Blink

Yes - this is the reason though I think it was a fold:
the whole reason to shove a hand like A10o in LP is to capitalise on FE + some possible showdown equity.

However - the guy with AK who makes the original raise has already committed to much to fold to my shove. So I am obviously assuming BB folds (ul they wake up with QQ) - but the reality is I am getting called 100% of the time by the original raiser.

This means I am shoving a very marginal hand with literally zero fold equity. So really - best case I can hope for is to be called by a lower ace - but thats very unlikely. His stealing range includes more often hands that would either give him two live cards, or otherwise A better ace. Also - PPs that I would flip against.

Ultimately I think it's a - cEV spot - I think it's probably +EV but not +cEV. Bubble factor is huge at this point, the amount of equity i need to make this shove absolutely has to include some fold equity - and i had none.

If I open-shoved and got snapped by QQ and lost - then I would think I played it perfect. But I think that raise before me completely distorted it and I should have tightened my shoving range to more like 1010/AQs+/AKo

Interestingly, if my stack had been a bit bigger - then I would have had some fold equity and my shove would have made more sense.

Yeah - that hand was complete fucking spazz. A shame really - after a 2.5hr final table and I held my own pretty well, elz actually got really lucky - when we were still 3 way she got it all in with A4 vs AQ and spiked a 4 on the river. So was pretty unfortunate for me she was my HU opponent.

But yeah - that final hand - you need to understand, I had been playing since 2am, it was around 11am by that stage, I had been drinking steadily and eating xanax (if you know what xanax are, then hahaha)

There was no reason to shove - elz hadn't been getting out of line - I think 95% of the time there she had a monster - almost never a bluff. Not so say she hadn't been caught on a few bluffs, but that spot was just not a good spot for her to bluff, I think she folds a majority of her range there and her re-raising range is twp pair+. I basically prayed she was semi-bluffing on a FD.

Anyway - was a pretty lame way to bust, because I had played so well for 7hrs that game lasted and I just threw it all away on a single hand.. So easy to do in an MTT>

Anyway - didn't really post that hand for feedback - I made a whole bunch of mistakes there, was a standard fold to her 3bet on the flop.

------------
Oh and I agree- Elz completely fucking owns wellbet

------------
Well. I woke up late today - so I couldn't play any of the bigger ($20+) buyin games, as they all start around 2am-7am and I got up around 9am

Had to register in a bunch of micro stakes games.. Just finished the last one - on the bloody bubble FFS - shove QQ into KK on right on the bubble lol

Anyway, results from today (nothing special, all low buyin games):::

22 Jun, 2012 Wake ‘n’ Stake (Speed) NL Hold'em $6.00 6 of 55 $21
21 Jun, 2012 Ocean's Twelve NL Hold'em $12 3 of 118 $169
21 Jun, 2012 Once Upon A Grind In China (Rebuy) NL Hold'em $3.50 5 of 94 $60

total profit was about $180

never bluff a fish/donkey.

I had one of those annoying players at an MTT myself during this week and it was awful. He kept taking everyone’s blinds and each time someone decided to go against him, he always got something at the table that would send the others away. But I got AA when I went against him and he couldn’t do anything, so he went a bit shorter, but still stronger in chipstack than me. The second time I decided to go against him was with AJ suited and he had 910, but the table gave him a pair of 10’s… No rigged poker here, but it feels bad to see how can someone who doesn’t seem to know how to play gets so far in a tourney moving insta all-in almost since the beginning.

What time of the day do these tourneys run on PKR? Whenever I look (evening BST) there doesn't seem to be anything starting for hours. Sad

Dunno man, I have it set to AEST. But there is stuff running all the time. They just brought out a new schedule - for the $3-$15 range there's a whole load of stuff running.

Do you guys know if i tis possible to deposit and withdraw at PKR always with Skrill? I don’t play around here for a long time, although i enjoyed its action (more tables became too slow, but the problema must be solved if i only play one or two at a time). Looks like there’s some crazy action around…

I don't know what Skrill is??

I used to always just do bank deposits/withdrawals - now I use a VISA debit card. They have a pretty wide range of options - I don't remember anything called "Skrill" however - worst case you can probably just do a 'local bank transfer' - as I used to do.
