getting closer in NL 5 Card Draw  0
Just finished in 3rd of 359 in the $1.10 nl 5 card draw. And feel soon i will manage to win this ... started playing this a couple of weeks now ... started with a couple of min cashes then hit a couple of 14th and 15th places and one final table ( lost quite a few too ) but finishing 3rd tonight has been my best so far and think i should be able to win one some time soon.

between this and nl 2-7 single draw i rarely play nl holdem anymore and dont miss it ....The donk factor is much less in these games so i enjoy my poker more now.

5 card draw is fun, I once ended first in a huge freeroll (dont remember how many players, but atleast 10k) but there was 48 winners so being first didn't matter much Big Smile

It's a lot about table image, value betting and picking good bluffing spots... Just like Hold'em. The thing is in hold'em, when you suck out on turn or river you usually get paid. Some players you might think are donks are actually doing this on purpose once in a while to mix their game or have the table image they want/put opponents on tilt. In 5 card draw, you can just play very tight and still get paid when you hit because people have a hard time laying down 2 pairs Blink The fact that there is no community cards makes the game more simple, but nevertheless fun!

Good luck on your 5 card draw quest Blink

Love playing 7 card stud and stud H/L 8 it's been taking the place of some of my Holdem now for about a month. I really enjoy HORSE because it's the only time I get to play RAZZ. The site I'm on never has any RAZZ games and I used to play it a lot when FT was alive.

Anyway, good luck at the newly found gig and post your results. Enjoy reaing about them from all players!

I saw how to play once but frankly i rather stick to PLO and Holdem but if you get this game as your A game i guess you could make some nice Dollar Blink

Make sure to keep us posted with your evolution anyways and i also wan to ask you on what poker platform do you play them?

i really don't play holdem anymore except when i do get a free ticket or via other promotion it is just very "profitable" to play it. what i do play a lot is split pot games (ohama 8 and stud hi-lo), 5 card draw, take shots at badugi, horse etc.- it just seems that the edges there are a lot sharper, and if you have a proper strategy you have more chances to be a profitable player in the long run than in holdem, but that's just my personal opinion

Where do you play that? PS? I guess it must be the only one that has that game with a good amount of players, don’t know if Party also has that game. I already played a few freerolls at PS and they were fun, but always Limit, which doesn’t let me have the same taste of it. Congrats and just hope you can keep up the good work.

will keep all posted on how i get on in future games .. I do recommend trying out different styles of poker as you might be surprised and find you do better in another variation ... I find nl 2-7 and draw suit me and i cash more regularly and get deeper than I do in nl holdem.

I have played this game a couple of times in low buy ins, and the results i was getting
werent good according to the omaha or holdem i used to get.

So unless its a freeroll or a game for fun, i dont touch it anymore.

You are getting good on this, so my advice for you is: keep focused! If you decide to play other type of poker game in the middle of this, even if it’s just to relax, you will probably be doing bad to your head. It can prejudice your action at the 5 Card Draw.
