Maybe a bit borderline racist, but I do not intend it. I just think its interesting that either you don't get, or I have never managed to stumble upon players of certain nationalities. So kinda two questions. Is there any nationalities where when you've seen somebody from that country, you have thought "I've never seen anyone from there playing poker?" Also is there any nationalities you've never came across and think its strange?
Until recently, I'd never seen a Japanese person playing poker, its probably cultural thing as to why you rarely see them, I'd expect. I've also seen somebody from Kazakhstan which surprised me for some reason. Also I've never came across a Korean person, there must be somebody in Korea who plays online poker. I've never seen anyone from Africa either, probably got something to do with them living in poverty, but I can't even recall ever seeing anyone from Egypt or South Africa either.
------------ Whilst doing a poll trying to think of countries. I realised as strange as it is that I've never came across anybody from some of these countries. There's pretty obvious reasons for most. But Iceland and Jamaica, What is going on there?

I have seen palyers from Korean Republic, Iran and Jerusalem, but I don't recall any from the list you've made. I don't think is racist to discuss or ask about the various nationalities which may or may not play poker. I actually think it's unique to play or even here in BRM to discuss poker with so many worldly people. It's nice to know that we can share opinions about a subject that we all enjoy, get frustrated about, laugh about or at times even hate the game.
One thing no matter is, we may disagree on some subjects, but for the most part we agree we like playing poker. BRM is a special place with great people. I never stay mad at someone on a subject matter and can go on to the next without holding personal judgement.

Cant say it was unexpected, but the most unusual from the list you are giving it was Turkmenistan, and that because it was the very first time seeing one. Ive seen players from the rest of the list, more than a couple of times. Of course there are sites where you cant see place of origin, or others where you can put whatever you like, so that limits the whole thing.

You have to take into consideration that in some contries the access to poker sites is restricted and in some sites you can choose what to show about location (no matter is real or not).Example Full Tilt where you can swich locations

So you've seen people from Nigeria and Nicaragua playing online poker. I doubt it.

I know it's not, but I know its a sensitive subject and some people take offence to things which aren't offensive, or aren't meant to be. And me saying, or making out you don't get people from certain countries playing poker. People may find that offensive for me to say, because certain places they obviously don't have money to gamble.
Not too often... and yes been at a table playing against people from Nigeria and Nicaragua. If memory sevess me right in the past couple of weeks on Stars playin PLO. Although uncommon they are out there. Up until very recently China and Japan as well in the past week. People can play using a phone nowadays...so why not give it a try? The only place on your list I have not seen a person from is Turkmenistan...bet it won't be long. At FTP used Christmas Island...just bcoz it seemed like a kool place.

ok here are some of the countries that i haven't seen players on any poker site i played (neither live): a-z list: antigua and barbuda, belize, benin, bhutan, botswana, brunei, burkina faso, burma, burundi, chad, comoros, djibouti, ethiopia, gabon, grenada, guinea-bissau, kenya, north korea...ahh forget it- lots of potential for growth

Yep. The most surprising country I have seen was recently and it was a player claiming to be from IRAN. I was really surprised...thinking about it Im not sure why I was surprised, but I was. Didnt get to see how well they did as moved tables and fiorgot all about them!
I played someone from outer space last time....hahahaaha... I think i have never played some from antartica ot at the arctic circle but i understand that if there is internet there will always be online poker....

Why you find it so strange that some one can play poker from those countries, and you doubt it? In every country that has internet connection, no matter what its economic status is, there are the lucky people, or more privileged if you like.

Because I play all the time, and am pretty much a 24 hr person who stays up all night then hibernates for a day. I doubt it because I've never seen them although I play at more suitable times for people from those sorts of countries, than someone from England. Maybe it was on Ipoker and it was someone taking the piss, where you seen people from crazy nations.

several times i saw players from Honduras and malaysia so i think very soon all asia regional peoples will play more poker and we all easy can earn cheap money from them players from africa plays very offten on poker tables so for me from asia peoples is really not very offten playing poker good luck and be happy

Malaysia is getting pretty common lately all over the net. If you play any online games you will be surprised how many Malaysians are playing. They are into the electronics so its not weird the amount of users they are getting as time passes.
