think i would call! He might be bluffing - if he's got the flush, you can be lucky and catch full house... What did u do ??

Easiest call ever. He is probably a bit retarded given this line but his range is probably [sets, two pair, AK/AQ with the high spade, flushes].

You have this range crushed. Get it in imo.

I hate this situations when you just sat at the table and get strong cards hit the flop but it is not nuts and someone pushes allin. But i think i would call. Two things.
1. He is a chip leader at the table so it is reasonable to think that he knows when and how much to bet. (not always he could be just playing rock style and had luck to get lots of fresh meat often)
2. After assuming first it is reasonable to assume that he knows you just sat the table and you might get scared because you dont know how and what cards hes playing.

First thing you should have done is press time button. Second, search for that player to see how many tables he is playing. If he is playing lots of tables he is playing rock style, 80-90% chance by my experience, and it is a fold without thinking. If he is not, its a call. God bless FTP for not allowing players to hide from search feature. To make it easier in the future you can do what i have done, i marked those who play 4+ tables and made two groups for 4- players 1-2 and 2-3. Now when i sit at the table i am pretty much certain how someone plays just with that info.

You can buy nice fat dinner later, i just finished eating. Mobster

EDITl: Its just when i Tilt then i tilt hard. I wont tell you what makes me tilt.

Yeah well no matter what the guy was holding it was a strange move. My guess was a smaller set was the most likely but he could also have AK or AQ with kicker in spades but I thought AK/AQ most likely would have reraised pre, if I was unlucky and he actually had flopped a flush I would still have a good chance of hitting house. Sadly he had flopped a flush with 9-7s and no draw out for me....here's the rest of the hand:

Mobster is all-In [$43.75 USD]
** Dealing Turn ** [ Kh ]
** Dealing River ** [ Jc ]
Mobster shows [ Ah, Ac ]three of a kind, Aces.
spoggsy shows [ 9s, 7s ]a flush, Ace high.
spoggsy wins $16.46 USD from the side pot 1 with a flush, Ace high.
spoggsy wins $95 USD from the main pot with a flush, Ace high.

i think that the low flush was very likely from how he played it, because he felt he had best hand now and assumed you had high spade since you bet out on the flop, i find that 95% of the time the huge overbet actually is what it represents, in this case a flush.

you do still have good outs to the full or better, 7 on the flop 10 on the turn, but i dont think it makes it a mandatory call, expecially not when he bets about 10x pot

your odds of winning are about 1/3 and he has not offered you the right odds, i fold here, but if you think he may have been bluffing then those times that you have him dominated make up for the fact that your draw isnt great now

Im playing NL50 and I insta called, there are so many bad players at this level that the call will be profitable in the long run, it's never a nice feeling but in most cases im good in. +EV

Thats bad luck dude. In my expereince your right about the bad players and on occaisions in this situation you get people throwing all in when they have highest pair in case you have one spade and they try to take down the pot then. It's a toughie and my play here would vary depending on my emotions. I have been knowing to fold and call hoping he has has top pair, one set or bluffing and the there is always the possibility of hitting a full house.

But most of time when you have just sat at a table you must treat everyone like their not bluffing and if they are you will eventually De-Chip them. Thumbs Up

You played it well in my opinion. That is what is called a cooler.

I would guess that the other guy has Ks in his hand, he hasnt made the flush but he knows he has the nuts if he does. Its a low cash game, he ist afraid to lose $60 for a chance to win $60 if he hits. I would have called and just crossed my fingers and prayed.. NO SPADE

easy call for me
he can have a flush here not so often to fold here
i think call is ok here

well the small raise pre gives them a an oppurtonity to call even with bad hands. I Always play A A hard pre just so i get rid of callable hands like suited hands.
He got lucky nothing to do you made the right call

Think i would have made the call. Think his move is a retarded move, he is pushing about 20x in on the top, thats a lot. But when you look at the hand, he is just lucky you caught your AA set cous' with AK AQ it would have been an easy fold to this giant reraise.. bad play from his site, fine play from you just BL set up.

might be it is little dumbass action but with aces u got a preflop chance of 82%. that means when u play ur aces everytime all in you will build out ur bankroll about (82% - 18%=)64% cumulative, u have to see the light at the end of the tunnel ; ) call with aces anytime in my opinion.

Noobyfish. That makes no sense. Pot size is variable.

that was a nasty flop for you. i think u made the right call. cos even if he had the best hand u had outs. it was bad play from him in my opinion cos the pot wasn't big enough to warrant that move. so many cards could have put him in bad shape. another spade may have given u the best hand for all he knew.

i think u didn't raise enough pre-flop. u gave ppl a chance to hit the flop. i don't like slo payin aces cos u dont know where u stand if a low pair comes on the flop. although i spose if u raised more, u wudn't get paid and ud b kinda wasting ur aces.
