SOmetimes you have to shove and hope when the blinds are so big.

You were shortish on chiips and had a hand that can play well if called by the likes of AK or JJ, so no you did nothing wrong, you just lost to a better hand. That happens.

in my opinion it was not so good decision to try steal blinds from big stacks, and especially not with Q10, lets say if it was A10 np i would shove 11BBs or how much u had from the button in case they call, you could have wait a lil longer imo

i felt it was time to take a risk ,,my timing was louzy...

and any 2 can win from A-A ,

now i thought again and feel it was not the best play...ussualy i play much thighter ,but also had a thight

image at that table..just ran into a better hand...

no guts no glory...

other side of this medal is ,that i can play very well shortstacked,,so maybe should have reached last 100 players and make a move later on in the tournament with a medium hand...

the only thing bad about this was i was facing 2 big stacks...there i broke my own rule,,some times you have to try or die..

i'm confident i'll reach a final table in this tournament soon,,,

playing more frequently for the last month,,,and also moved up a bit in my maximum buy-inns..

micro's is nice but hard to win deasent money...because your always running against a huge field...

well "time to take a risk" we all know these right? Smile oh yea about the huge field.. that is still waiting for me, i wish i could have had bankroll for higher buy-ins, because i strongly believe it would be in fact easier in here, while not facing so many donks, and not to mention it must be great experience, and a way to learn faster in tough decisions. But step by step gotta get there sooner or later Tongue

There are two sides to the equation.

Firstly, I would say that if you cannot beat bad players, then you will struggle against good ones. Bad players SHOULD ( and note I say SHOULD ) be easier to beat, however as you suggest, alot of them are donks and will not respect your raises or consider your holdings and will chase impossible odds hoping for a suckout. Sometimes it doesn't work, but all too often they appear to get rewarded for their stupidity At micro stakes they willl call with any two to see a flop. Thatswhy they can only afford to play at micro stakes games because they piss away their stack chasing every hand.

With regards to playing at higher stakes, you have to start to think more. Some hands are easy to play AA, KK, possibly QQ or AK, however with hands like AK if you are facing a raise you are less likely to be in the lead and hands like AQ have to be got rid of simply because unlike the lower stakes games, you cannot afford to overplay it. AQ unless its late in a game is a por hand and shouldn't be overplayed. At low stakes you will see people shoving with AQ then losing. Simple enough really.. they shoved with a poor hand and lost.

I prefer higher stakes because I can sit tight and let the others work. When I get a bigger hand I face less opposition and because they take notice of table image, and stats, they wont call me with crap like J 4 suited.

The key to all games is patience. Sometimes you have to sit for ages then gamble when you are shortstacked but I proomise you will go much further the more hands you fold. than ever you will trying to get big stacks by inisisting on seeing the flop every hand.

thanks for the reply, i might take some advices from that post but i do play quite tight in the freerolls or micro stakes, the thing is im quite aggro when i got the guts, im constantly learning and trying to improve, recently for example i started to give up on those mediocre hands even suited connectors, or weak suited Aces, KQs,KJs.. it all depends on the position and action before me etc.. well from your post and many others i have read over the time, i just have to believe in myself and that in a long term i can be succesfull if ill have the patience and will to learn in the future too

ps : and you just said it "I prefer higher stakes because I can sit tight and let the others work. When I get a bigger hand I face less opposition and because they take notice of table image, and stats, they wont call me with crap like J 4 suited."

and thats the main reason i believe it would be "easier" in higher stakes, i think i have chosen the wrong word for it and should have said it would be better or something
