Negreanu: "My Ex-Wife Helped Me Become a Better Man"

Daniel Negreanu posted his first rant of 2013 on Wednesday. This time Daniel discussed charity, his poker goals for 2013 and his divorce from his ex-wife, who helped him become a better person.

Some may say he’s being sarcastic when he says his ex-wife helped him being a better man, now that he’s no longer married with her. At what point of the relation is he referring to, for that to happen? While she was his wife and they had a good life together or when things started to run wrong? I guess he’s referring to the first part, and, although things haven’t kept running well and they broke the relation, that doesn’t mean they don’t give each other well. Perhaps this way he can be more focused on the tables and winning some more live tourneys.

G'day Mobsters

Daniel is divorced. I remember years ago reading something on an online forum that the women in Daniels life told him it was poker or her. Perhaps she tested his resolve by shoving the chips all in and he called her on it by folding the relationship and going to the high stakes table sitting down and stating, "Deal me in gentlemen. I am here to play."

Be Cool

I think it is a wise man who acknowledges that a previous wife has contributed to his personal development and improvement in life. Most women are capableof this ans should be receptive to the thanks that they get without necessarily tninking the should be some financial recompense for their efforts!!!

great as always daniel, what a nice gesture to thank his ex-wife foir all that she gave to him and all that he grew as a person during the time they were together. About his theory of social life being connected to poker results, i think he's right on the bottom of the issue -that's what matters at the end-. Of course you can argue about poker form and skills being directly associated with results and your bankroll size over your relationship status (i mean, it isn't always a law) but of course the way your life is going in general translates -in some way- to the way you performe on the tables, imo.

That's all, gl to all and i wish you all a very happy new year!
