Anishinabeg has been assimilated throughout the years, tortured, abused over the years its just sickening.
Harper has went beyond our treaties and even broken them...
citizens of canada have to know this
they are living on the same lands as us,
they are drinking the same water, we got to stop this harper....
if we dont, all will be left for us is ...... pretty much nothing...
Canada has the most fresh water in the world....
whos gonna replenish this when its destroyed...
not even the cleanest watering filters cant filter out oil, mercury and all that junk they put into the waters....

Oh...wow. Okay, I am probably going to start a flame war/get bashed like crazy for this, but here goes.
I too live in Canada. I've been here all my life, and love my country. We're a land of truly free people, where we have the right to say and do pretty much whatever we want, so long as we do not infringe on the rights of others.
On that note, I'm aware of the native lead protests going on. I know that we have treaties with natives, and that we as a people honor them.
Natives are given pretty much anything they want. Casinos. Free health care. FREE education. Heck, about 10 years ago, my city spent HUNDREDS of millions of dollars building and staffing a NATIVE ONLY educational facility. Only natives can use it, and their education is COMPLETELY paid for with no loans. It's completely free. Ironically enough, it's the most under-attended school in our entire province. Yes, compared to public schools, high schools, our universities and other educational facilities, it it's the one school that has record low attendance. What does that say? You're offered completely free education, and you still won't utilize it? Why not?
Natives are also given monthly treaty money, to the tunes of hundreds of dollars PER NATIVE person. Completely free. They are also given preferential treatment for many government jobs, casino jobs, and pretty much any other industry. If you want a job, it's yours. Yet 99% of our workforce is comprised of non-natives. What does THAT say. You want a job, you can have it. Any job you want. Yet the vast majority of the native population in Canada is unemployed, and living on welfare.
I have friends/family members that work in the health region, so I know all too well that when it comes to health care, natives are ALWAYS given first spots. Need elective surgery? No prob, front of the line. Meanwhile the rest of us wait up to 3 years to get in. This includes normal hospital visits, as well as walk-in clinics and pretty much ANY other health service.
Natives are also bumped to the front of the line for ANY counseling services, including abuse, drug and alcohol rehab, and family counseling.
And why do we do all this? Because of outdated treaty laws. I'm sorry, the fact that your ancestors were "robbed" of "their land" hundreds of year is completely irrelevant. NO ONE owns the land, we all as people do. The earth is OUR home too, and NO ONE has a right to tell us we can't be here.
You want to talk about being abused? The stark fact is, that natives comprise the vast majority of our national suicide statistic. This isn't something WE caused though. This is caused by your OWN PEOPLE. Natives are subjected to phyisical and sexual abuse, emotiopnal abuse, abadonment and all sorts of other psychological and physical abuse by THEIR OWN FAMILY MEMBERS. More so than all other ethnicities combined in canada.
WE aren't abusing you. WE are trying to help you. We give you front spot in pretty much ANY line, jobs, education, healthcare, places to live, food AND shelter. Please, tell me how WE are abusing you.

Wow! I guess I'll have to research this a bit since I thought there were no issues of any kind in the Canadian Provinces or territories. What I don't understand is why would you post something like this in a small community of poker players from around the world.
It's sounds like retributions on top of the gig though, butt I'll still do some reading concerning this to see how bad your being abused!
