Aussie Millions local winner Event 2  0
he Aussie Millions' second event came to a close yesterday and far from the European domination of Event 1, it was a home-grown player who clinched the title.
A total of 233 players anted up the necessary $1,100 to play the Pot Limit Omaha event; push the winner's bounty to $53,600.
Throughout the tournament the action was expectedly fast-paced; however, few would have predicted the chip storm that occurred at the final table.
Lead by Sam Vakili, the remaining eight players were whittled down to two in just 45 minutes.
Indeed, at one point the frantic pace threatened to produce one of the fastest final tables of all time.
However, with the blinds modestly low compared to Vakili's and John Messina's stacks, it took three hours before the event finally came to a close.
A slice of luck for Vakili eventually ended the tournament and gifted him a career best win as well as a championship ring.

In a recent blog post Rupert Elder credited his recent success to a more "regimented" approach.
Rupert also reveals that, had he not it not been for his commanding chip lead, he'd have made a deal with Martin ' 0piggybank' Finger because he considered him a "superior heads-up player".
Away from the felt, Rupert is having sailing lessons and is also looking to take up a new sport in order to have a more balanced lifestyle.
