Now with this new trophy he won't shut it for months for sure... Mouth aside he's definitely a good player ( a bit of a jackass imo but maybe that's just me) so this comes with little surprise.

If he was facing bankrupcy, this is sure a nice boost to put everything straight. Now that all is over, there may appear some Blom defenders saying Matusow only won because Izildur1 wasn't on his usual 100% shape. But having Hellmuth in front of him in the big final is, perhaps, a bigger challenge than facing Blom, and he also passed that.

Matusow is a nice player, playing VERY tight in the videos that i've seen. Knows live play very well. This HEADS-UP win didn't feel odd for me. Solid pro having a good feel of his opponents.
What i didn't like was the odds he had of getting the flush in the last hand.. but with Hellmuth's bad luck in heads up matches, he did the right thing... and won

So the "Mouth" wins it after all! I would really have liked to seen all this come down. To see him and Hellmuth and then to watch him kick Blom little luckbox azz would have been something to watch. I just wonder what he was saying as he crept slowly upward to defeat his opponents. The truth is, I would have liked to seen Blom take him down, but it's cool to see "Mouth" back it up.

Way to go Mike! After winning against lineup like that( Mizrachi - Blom - Greenstein - Seiver - Hellmuth ) there is nothing much to say but well deserved and congratulations Mike.

It's increadible how Blom's "dreams" got to be more important than the victory of this challenge itself. This shows how valuable is Blom nowadays. Matusow's got all the credits for having made it, but people will tend to forget this fast, except him and those who lost for him.
