Lol godlike run!
Do you also play poker sober? Don't beat yourself up too much over your losses, it's a gamble you already took into consideration when loggin on while drunk
will heed your advice on hypers, although I tend to avoid so swingy a game...

nowerdays i hav to be of sound mind to play poker, one of the hardest things for me to do was stop smoking weed while playing (thats my poison) i found i used to click a lot and find my self asking WTF have i just called here. do drink a pint when i play in the casino, just cause youve gotta give somthng back to the casino, i do tip the dealers when i win a big pot, i believe in karma in general, but not as a stratagy for my game.

I think you are right about Karma, when I was playing drunk plo that night before hypers I shipped a railbird $10 who went on to come 3rd in a $1 for $98 or something. I then proceeded to go on crazy run. Next day when playing sober I ignored the railbirds and lost most of my roll lol!

I played few times being drunk on cash live games.I never won. When you are drunk you can't concentrate and you play stupid hands. Also it is hard to control emotions, you want to bring your chips back and you loose everything
Unless of course your playing against me than by all means have another drink or three or even four. I'm not going to turn down a free advantage over an opponent.
Drinking and poker share one important quality. Either you keep it under control or it will get control of you. Neither is a good place to be.

I don't think it's a good idea to be drunk to play poker, but if it helps for you than I wouldn't stop doing it. I already have enough trouble winning when I'm sober..

You made a very good profit and then you blew it. You should have asked for a cash out right then. Such gambles are easy to take either direction. Good luck with your remaining money, and i hope you can win it back and go to holidays. And btw you dont need an ultrabook to go on holidays

I prefer playing on weed over alcohol, never really played a session on alcohol,I usually just go straight to bed when I get home drunk But yeah one thing many people do was your mistake as well - you thought a sick upswing was a result of exceptional skill, which is in the least cases the actual case Good thing you managed to cash out a good chunk tho

I prefer winniing! There's always time for chemical enhancements after playing. Anything that affects your mind during play is bound to undermine that players success at the tables.

I know I sounded dramatic in first post but I don't care that much about losing it. I don't use it as life roll. I have a pretty well paying job. I only use it to buy extras if and when I want it.
I'm confident I will have it rebuilt soon enough It is already back to $2200

I am winning, dont worry but weed helps in some cases to focus on stuff more,it's scientificly proven, unless you over-use it (take too much at once) And besides, weed isn't anything chemical,I'd agree that taking chemical drugs wouldnt really be beneficial because it will affect your play in a psychologic way

they are mostly talking about sports or other physical activities, but it's still pertinent to a discussion of the effects of alcohol on poker playing skills.

I think the best conclusion would be "Play drunk but don't play while on the hangover". The day you lost was the day after, right? I usually don't play drunk, but i also don't play so high values. But i once saw a friend winning €900 on three consecutive €300 HU. He just got better hands than his opponent in the first game, and in the other two his opponent seemed completely on tilt. Then my friend started chating with me and the opponent kept on calling him for the tables for some more gaming, but my friend kept on talking to me and the guy went away. This was €900 in about 5 minutes or even less!!! But i wouldn't put myself on the skin of my friend, too much action for my heart i supose!
The article I provided the link for suggested that while alcohol impairs judgment and reflexes it also minimizes the tendency to overthink. It didn't supply any proof or studies supporting that position, it was a mostly an exercise in logic looking for a reason why people say the play better drunk.
