Have you had your email upgraded yet. I was looking for ways if we could avoid it but came up empty. And as they said, they upgraded mine today and there is no way turning back. Had it tested some time ago switched back to hotmail, but now they forced it for good. I really hate it!
been using Outlook for about 4 months now, took some time to get used to it. Find it somewhat better than Hotmail. Other than that the only difference is with Outlook everything transferred over and didn't have to switch my email account address. The biggest downgrade imo was losing Instant Messenger to Skype and the message portion of Outlook really suks

Hi. I recently changed my client to GMAIL and I have found it a lot better than hotmail. It easily has changed my contacts to it and I found it so easy I wish I had done it earlier.
Give it a try if you can. I don't know if it is available in your countries - take my word for it/ give it a try.

I switched from hotmail to gmail back in 2004 and I can attest to the fact that gmail is by far the superior product.. always has been, always will be..
That said - you don't have to use the webmail for Hotmail or Gmail, you can use any email client: Windows LiveMail, OutLook, Thunderbird, Incredimail, plenty more.. there are loads of free mail clients out there..

How did you go about converting to Outlook? And, is this option free with windows because everytime I went to set it up, which has been quite some time, years even, it wouldn't allow me access it.
Just curious as to how you set it up? Just usinig the windows app?

I had a Hotmail account and about a week ago i got a message from Microsoft, saying that all Hotmail accounts will become Outlook in a short period of time. They were also asking if i wanted to move to Outlook at that point, clicked no and yesterday they did it by themselves From what they say no one will be able to open a Hotmail.com account any more. All new accounts will be Outlook.com

it's not Outlook Express, but, outlook.com. There should be a link to click in the Hotmail client to switch.
