Firstly I have to make a comment on jess the human who lives in Australia, age is 29 whose comments have mostly come from being book read and now later some media videos, I lived through that time my age is 59, 60 in June and yes it wasn't all nice and cuddly it could be a nightmare in all areas and worse in some other areas and if it can get worse than being a night mare it did, yes a lot can be learn from books and the media but it doesn't reflect on the real reality of those times.
I suggest that maybe watching the BBC NEWS 24 on the BBCi online for the next few days may give you further thoughts on this issue and may also change peoples thoughts on how she rightly or wrongly changed the UK for good.
Scotland picked up there arms and disagreement regarding the poll tax she brought in and mining issues also.
Now onto the statement that there will never be another woman prime minster and she put a stop to that happening again, no you are totally up in the clouds for there will be another woman prime minister I suggest you ask around for the odds in the book makers on that one I will be waiting for that one to arrive here posted. It want be long before we have another one has the men aren't doing much good are they at the moment.
Any tributes are as follows it wont be a state funeral and she will not be laid in state, the Queen usually does not attend them if they aren't, but guess what she and Prince Phillip will be attending this funeral.
There will be no 1 minute silence requested from the FA at all footy matches unless wish to do so, now that will give an almost true indication of how the country is really feeling being that most of the UK will be covered on that one.
Many of the areas I mentioned in my earlier post and I will now add the north east of England are celebrating in her death, well that's there decision I cant really comment on that even though I lived through it myself but never lived through it so closely to us in my area.
You all have your own personal idea and thoughts on this woman off which are yours to have but again she has died and I will not go into that again has I have my own personal thoughts on this too.

been trying to watch the news on BBC for two days and have come to the conclusion that maraget thatcher died, and theres nothing else in the world we need to know about, bbc news is not covering any other stories, why????
speaking as a northerner born into povety, she was just some toffee nosed stuckup bitch, a sociapath (as are most politicians), she spent the last two years of her life cenile with no family looking after her, se wasnt shoved in some home, no she lived in the ritz hotel for £400 a night at the expense of the millions of people whos lives she fucked with. im sick of these tory fucks telling us its our fault that they are hording the countries wealth. storing it in corperate bank accounts and not reinvesting it in the development of this country or its people. dicks
any way can somone enligten me as to what else has been happening in the world.

The UK WORKS AND PENSIONS are giving the disabled and the truly sick in my country a hard time because drug addicts and alcoholics and work shirkers have abused the welfare system here for too long.
Accompanied with the shirkers they think that all off the genuine claiming support must also be either a drug addict a piss head or don't want too work
This is going on while people with 6 months to live due to cancer are being put in the work related work group after they have been placed in the hospital full time, then been allowed home for a day to have some home time with there family then returned to hospital to die, in the mean time letters are being wrote by the UK W&P to them that there benefit may stop because they didn't attend the appointment with a work advisor at the local job centre to find them a job.
There are many many more stories like this but who and why did this start because the
drug addicts alcoholics and work shy AKA shirkers led to us all getting p-issed of with these w -ankers and now the UK GOVERNMENT are attacking those who need it the most.

I know that politically I am completely against everything Thatcher stood for but I have to admit some ignorance about everything she did while in office. I don't mind admitting it's possible she may have done some good for the country but there are people more ignorant than me, people who weren't even born when Thatcher left office, who hate this comically evil figure simply cos it's in fashion to hate her, it's in their local heritage, it's the incredibly biased way the left-wing media portrays her as the most evil prime-minister ever.
And I have to admit that when I heard about the parties celebrating her death, particularly the street party in Glasgow where socialist groups gathered to sing the wicked witch is dead, and consequently that that song from the Wizard of Oz is now in the itunes charts, I was both amused and ashamed. Aren't we supposed to be the nicer ones, the caring ones? If the tories are the nasty party why are the socialists poking fun at a dead old woman? I realize that in dying people are not changed, automatically forgiven and deserve the right to respect, but we shouldn't celebrate her death, her retiring from politics was enough. Her death doesn't undo any of the damage she caused or represent even a tiny fragment of justice, it's just an old lady dying.

ok i have a lot of issues with this statement, it is very judgmental. the truth is the drug addicts and alcoholics of this country are nothing but a product of the society they live in. speaking openly and honestly as somone with a drug addiction i find that very offencive, i have spent the past 5 years of my life involved with UK charities and have been involved in campaigns that have raised MILLIONS OF POUNDS for uk charities, for the poor, for the homless and MILLIONS combined for the biggest cancer charities in this country (macmillan,marie curie,the anthony nolans trust,breast cancer uk and many others), but no 3 millon pound state funeral for me or goverment pension.
i am curently not working and am recieving job seekers, and am attending college to try and get myself in a position to find a good career, i do not claim housing benifit or council tax benefit which i am entitled too. and recieve less in benefit than THE PRIME MINISTER OF THIS COUNTY who recieves more than that for chid care. i recently read a report on the true scroungers in this country, while povery is rising ther is 750 billion pounds stored in private sector corperate bank accounts(not including the banks or financial sector) the worst being the housing industy which haave made billions and forced house prices out of the reach of the average working man.

Yeah, I was going to say something myself, it's generally not worth it with the sort of person that has an opinion like this.. But of course you're correct takingdrugs, it's an incredibly offensive statement.
Particularly since countless studies have shown the vicious cycles of poverty within societies.

I also agree on the fact that a state funeral paid by the tax payer is not acceptable and we can agree on that totally taking drugs that is a deffo NO NO NO
But you haven't taken my account of what has happened to the welfare state in this country with the justification it deserves.
smack heads alcoholics and the lazy gits of this country have messed up the real help needed by the real sick and disabled in this country which is what it was brought in for, a short term help for one reason say if you break a leg and a long term if you have a more serious medical problem excluding any addiction or a being a lazy git who wont get out of bed to do a proper days work.
The only good thing to come out of this disgraisefull way that Ian Duncan Smith is taking is that if you don't show that you are doing what ever is possible and the W&P have put much help for them to follow to give up on there addiction then there benefit is stopped if they don't.
I am too busy today to post on any other issues concerning this but may have another look tomorrow

Hi guys, haven't been around for a while, just noticed this thread. I must say I lmao at people like simon. Blatant daily mail reader if ever I've seen one. But yeah i probably have the same stance as takingdrugs on this one, because i too am a northerner , born into poverty, with a cannabis addiction. But usually with things like this you take one extreme (eg simon) and another extreme (eg taking drugs) and the truth is somewhere in the middle. So awood is probably being the most human in his viewpoint.
------------ Just wanna also say I didn't like the young ones in the slightest. Before my time so, and i don't like punks, so it kinda goes over my head most of it. Alan Partridge is the best sitcom ever.
and hopefully a couple of stray bullets will hit Cameron and Osborne between the eyes.
