Well we all get our share of bad beats and as we play more we , well most of us learn to cope , its was so refreshing to see a top pro getting one and loosing it, I was watching the poker on tv last night its a premier leauge that channel 4 run for those who cant watch, anyway 6 seat table Helmuth tonyg and 4 others there names I forget, Helmuth gets dealt A5 , raises on the button, gets 1 call the caller has 99,,, the flop hits the table A55, wow , now Helmuth as you do has hit a full house lovely , he checks , opponent doesnt bite checks as well,, and guess what?? yeah a 9 hits the turn , oh my god ,, lol,,,,, anyway Helmuth raises opponent gos all in and Helmuths face drops, he knows only a pair of nines can beat him (considering 5555 )would be to pessimistic) , he hums and hos and moans , but eventually he calls all in,, river comes Helmuth crashes and burns , lol,, not a happy man moans all the way of stage about hiting a full on the flop and still getting beat,, moans about how bad the other players are,,,, demands the Limo to take him away says he is not hanging arround with these bums! lol,,,,,so nice to see that not even the pros can handle a beat all of the time ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,ye haaaaaaaaaaaaa,,,,,,,
yeh, these checks on the flop when you have strong hand, often bring bad emotions so, everybody can choise. at last, I prefer to bet in this situation.

5555 would not be just pessimistic. would be IMPOSSIBLE, since there was just a five left in the deck. he could lose to aces, though. anyway, no chance of escape here.
raising pre-flop then checkin post flop in a dry board like this is not a good idea, imo. it's very suspicious. in this spot, it's easier to get money from Ax leading with a nice and proud continuation bet, with the best "bluffing face" you could give. =P

Posted by zaikon7: Hellmuth is a great player tbh hes ego just can't take the suckouts. Like a big kid, but hes great player no mather what people say.
Think i've seen about over 10 huge badbeats in live games he had, there's much more of thouse in youtube if you bother to search
in fact, hellmuth is very egoistic kind of player, he like to be a "king" on the tabe... and he doesn`t accept objections

I think he does for comedy purposes only to be honist. Ive seen him do it 100 times sometimes he cant conceal his smile and one i seen on highstakes poker where he got a bad beat from Phil ivey and was shouting your stupid etc etc and he burst out laughing.. I think its jst a game he likes to play he over does it abit for fun acting like a novice when hes clearly one of the best players in the world.

If Phil wasn't such a bad loser, he would be more recognised as one of the worlds best players. You would of thought by now he would have watched back enough clips of himself winging to think 'What am I being such a knob?'
