is there really much that difference in playing lower suited connectors to unconnected? they both hold the straight potential but if the cards on flop and turn or river fall - are you not in the position where u could bet into a flush only to be beaten by higher cards?

Depends on what kind of game your playing really. But at best the difference is about 5%. But your cerintly right, many times you can be beat by a better flush in a huge pot.
I tend to avoid them most of the time. When i do play them, i kinda play them like a small pair. Get good mutli way value PF. Try to hit a good flop you can shove/fold on. If not, get outta there!

Suited connectors and little pairs are just not worth it.Before the flop you have a >30% chance almost everytime...but that is only theoretical since this is online poker and I rarely see a no-face flop and if the flop and turn are little cards your hand value is also little because the others rarely have entered the pot with 83o Suited connectors are good if you have an over average chipcount and you believe that you could get something with that hand.

If you rarly see a no face flop i can only guess you dont play much. Also to consider not every hand is won by showdown, there is situations where you can steal and bluff.

a lot depends whether you come from a country that i dont want to mention, so anyways if you come from Russia you play anything suited and you play it by going all in pre-flop or else you're a coward. unsuited cards can be played too- just wait for unopened pot on the button and fire 100 BB with 45 off in order to steal the blinds

Hi mate! I was talking about hand value and evolution of the hand...If you are Phil Ivey or Daniel Negreanu or offcourse Tom Dwan you can easily play suited connectors, but on the internet? If you play at decent limits...1/2$ ...yes...you could play normally but lower than that players call to often and bluff more so suited connectors are just good for losing blind money.

...if you choose this style of play,...you must also play it shirtless, like Vladimir, with a valiant and triumphant look in your eyes as you stare off slightly to the right at the horizon.....
On a more serious note,... I'll play 'em on the cheap in the early stages of tournament play. I've folded so many times only to see I had the knutzzzz. They can though, be a rather expensive loss later on when the blinds have risen considerably...
