Former EPT Grand Final Champion Pieter de Korver Wins First Ever Berlin Cup
The European Poker Tour stop in Berlin, Germany kicked off on Wednesday with the €500,000 guaranteed Berlin Cup. With an €1,100 buy-in, the event attracted a whopping 911 players and generated a prize pool of €883,670. Of that, €180,000 was reserved for first place, and it was former EPT Grand Final champion Pieter de Korver walking away with the title.

Are 2nd and 3rd places mistaken or did the last guy from the podium really won more than the second? That must have been a bad deal Anyway, nice prizes, having the chance to turn €1K into €180K is a big deal!!! I'm just not prepared yet to make this type of bets...

I've never heard of ANY of those guys except for Vladimir Geshkenbein...
He's been on a few televised events I've seen including the PKR Heads Up Tournament that has been replayed on TV about 20 times in the last year or so...
He seems to talk his opponents to death,...then takes all their chips....lol
