Had to make a choise regarding step sngs on ftp. Was it good?   0   
Hey fellow mobsters.

I wanted to share my story from today with ya all so there it is:
Since there was no traffic on 1-2$ sngs on ftp I've decided to play Step0 tourney for 1.1$ to kill some time and well... it went better than expected. I didnt pay mych attention except playing, but then I realised that I got a step5 ticket which is worth 215$ and... it got me thrilled.
So I did a lot of thinking how to play this out, since ticket's worth 2 times my bankroll and Ive decided to play SUPER TURBO(we can aswell call this lotto) 6 man sng with:
1st place - step6 ticket(635$ worth)
2nd-3rd place - step5(aka retry)
4th place - 179$
My plan was to on purpose take 4th place and get some money while I still can. I was damn nervous while joining this sng, since we all know how random it is and even 4th place might not be that easy to achieve. Luckly on first hand 3 ppl went all in(2 ppl went retard mode with A4 and K9, while 3rd guy had strong AKs) and after seing that there is no possible draw I knew that I GOT IT!
Ofc RNG is a bitch and next hand I got dealt KK on BB with one guy going all in but it was insta fold for me. Next hand I said on chat that I want 4th place and in order to be 100% sure that I wont accidentaly knock someone out I did a check-check till river with one guy and after him teling me that he got something I went all in. Dude was kind enough to trust me, checked and took my chips.


Now after thrill is over I cant stop thinking about that - I am very happy that I made so much money out of a dollar(especialy because 2 nights ago I donked on Carbon Pokerwhile waiting for a tourney to pop I paid a visit to mr. Blackjack and lost 160 bucks, which was all I had ;< Blink BUT at the same time I was only 1.5 steps away from final Step7 where price pool for 9man sng is 20K(+not 3 but 4 places paid)!! and I'm thinking that maybe fortune would be kind enough and let me play on the final tourney and cash out HUGE pot. Who knows...


Now mobsters question for ya all - what would YOU do if you were on my spot - you are 4th on step5, got dealt KK. Would you continue playing and go for ALL or NOTHING(up till the final step), or would you rather choose 'better a small fish than an empty dish'?

Most probably i would have gone for the money too.
The thing i wouldnt have done though is blowing the money in casino games.
Since you had such intention you should have gone for the ticket.

Of course you go for the ticket. If you go into the next level then they too offer cash prizes for 4th place I believe. It would have been well in excess of what you took taking 4th on the lower step.

I play to win everytime. If I can take the ticket to the higher level then I take it. I would never ever surrender my KK just to try and get 4th place. ITs crazy.

have to agree here with Mr. Red Cum, you should go for higher value ticket. you can get more money for finishing in some place that pays direct cash there, furthermore you win lots more of loyalty points and you can always play it safe on the higher level and try to be guaranteed of at least of another shot at the lower level...but still it's a great run Thumbs Up

I would have played and attempted 1st place.. worst case you get a second shot at 4th but i don't know your financial situation, 179 is still alot from $1 so i say don't matter you got $179 and that's enough to be happy with.

Oh almost forgot congratulations on your win dont head back to the blackjack house will always win Blink

Also have to agree here.... play to win...

Only if your at the bubble and there are 2 or more players going all-in I could imagine to fold with pocket KK (if I was shortstack)

But still a good profit you made
