EPT's new partner  0
Thanks to a new partnership with leading battery brand Duracell, the EPT will be offering wireless Smartphone charging at the table.
Utilising the Duracell Powermat, each EPT table will have in-built wireless charging hotspots which will allow players to charge their phone without any physical connections.
Commenting on the new partnership, EPT President Edgar Stuchly said that "a dead battery can be a disaster" and "wireless charging at the table is a natural progression to free Wi-Fi" the tour introduced in Season 9.

I see that Duracell started to act after buying Powermat. Just as I got used to communication going through the air around us, they came up with this wireless electricity to blow my mind. I mean, how the hell do they transport electricity without using wires? Confused . Pure magic to me.

I think EPT is just the beginning of a major PR and advertisement blitz for Powermat.

I don't know rules of working... but if it's works - it is great Smile And it's very nice ad for Duracell.

PS. I don't know why mobile phone with low battery level could be disaster to a poker player...

My head has just blown!

How indeed do you transmit electricity wirelessly? This in my honest opinion is amazing but guess some mobster out there will pop along and explain just how simple it all is. Gonna have to get to EPT to try it out!!!!!!!

hay dudes, can someone give me insight on the following situation: when i see major tourneys on tv, i notice that players are allowed to use their smartphones/ tablets at the tables...so when the same tourney is live streamed, can't they just watch their table on the tablet with hold cards open while they play (especially if it's a table where some pro's play, so it does get streamed)...imagine how funny it would be to see a live stream of the event- one guy goes all in, other dude waits for a sec, then takes a peak into his tablet and calls to win...lmfao (and he gets caught while doing that Tongue )

the reason a player couldn't do that is all live streams of tournaments are shown with at least a 30 minute delay. it is to protect the integrity of the game. that being said on the big final tables players will often have someone watching said stream for them and getting key info relayed back to them which is a very helpful tool to know what someone had in a crucial hand or if an opponent is bluffing a lot or always had it. hope that helps you.
