When a online poker player is asked this simplistic question they will give a very telling answer.
It seems that the answer is 100% dependent upon if the player being asked is a winning or losing online player. I have personally observed that it seems almost all losing players say online poker is rigged. However they do keep right on playing and trying to become winners.
Players who immediately answer that "online poker is not rigged" are most likely making money playing online poker.
So if you think poker online is rigged then you might need to look at learning to play better poker. If poker online is not rigged in your opinion the keep up the good work.

Oh man what did you do? You should know already that anyone that thinks poker is totally rigged and still comes to a poker site to talk about it ( over and over and over again) doesn't think he/she plays bad so telling them to improve their game is just throwing more wood to the fire .
As a personal opinion i don't think it's rigged but at the same time i'm not a winning player... more or less break even coz of my cash game results ( in tournaments my stats suck big time atm).
That being said, the main problem while playing online is your opponents, not the software. I was taken to conclude that the majority of player just plays for fun and not for profit. In low and micro stakes there's no real logic behind their play. Whenever playing with friends i see that happening all the time. no one respects my raises, lots of bluffing all the time, card chasing, bad bets u name it and why? coz they just don't care... losing or winning ( specially if u just see it as a card game using a free bankroll from somewhere) doesn't mean a thing. People go after the rush of playing cards and pure luck.
-------------------------------------------------
Just as an added note, if you seat in a table with loose players like so sit out and find another table without them... u'll see the "riggedness" of poker lowering instantaneously i assure you.

There is a study about the PokerStars shuffle, and it says that half of the time the worst starting hand won when there was a showdown. I think the better starting hand should win more often, even when the hands that could have won folded earlier. So, is PokerStars rigged? The study is here:

G'day Heskor
Thank you for posting in the thread. Do not remember meeting you before so it is nice to meet you mate. Welcome to the forums. You sir are preaching to the choir right now. I have been on a down swing for 3 weeks now and see now end in sight. decided today to take a 3 or 4 day break from playing the rounder tables and only play small MTT games and some freerolls.
The last 3 weeks I have been a losing player. Yep I have lost $100 in just 3 weeks So I guess poker must be rigged This variance will work itself out very soon and then I will win it all back and more. be cool mates

It wasn't poker stars, it was planetpoker, it was in 1999 and the algorithm was changed almost immediately that the site became aware of it

When pocket Kings, Queens and Jacks constantly lose I wonder if it is rigged or not. Too often I see a hand where three people have QQ vs KK vs 22 or 33 the deuces or the threes win.

I used to think it's not rigged until there were proof it sometimes is. I couldn't understand why they should rig the game if they are winning on the rake only. Why should they care if player X or player Y takes the pot? But then it appeared that they actually interfered with the game to make betting more valuable then it should so people will play more hands and pay more rakes. I think that it is not rigged - at least not more than 1%-2% of the hands, because the hands are monitored and they can't risk getting caught.

all in pre-flop al in on the flop and all in on the turn
Man!!!...those are some mighty fine beats . Just when we think we've seen it all....wham...here comes another, better than the last. Was taught early on that if one is affected by bad beats in a most negative way, then, we haven't experienced enough of them. The fact is there is always a "new" way to get beat. The counter to this phenom is knowing and honestly evaluating our play to prove we played correctly by any of the popular method(s) at our disposal. Variance and not rigging is the term used to describe these beats. When variance is prolonged it turns into a down swing which in turn leads to a reordering of priorities. It's the side of the game .... as with having to swallow the bitter pill, no one is immune.

Who is the player? Do you know who is behind the nick? How many possibilities are?

I don't think they risk anything...you know why? Their soft has an approval from some private company, who is authorized to give license for their soft. So if is it something wrong, they can say; "so..it's not our fault..we have a license... Go talk with them!" And that company...who knows who is the boss... Imagine a chain...
Not all the people who win will say is anything wrong...Trust me...

If you make money out of online poker it's not rigged, if you only lose is rigged for sure.
I agree with u Macubaas , but i want to tell about this . We must to play as a last hand every hand . @ RoninHarper man try to fold hand even when u raised a lot of chips , because all-in doesnt work all time and try not to play much hands and to play cleaver! I think that in Online poker the poker sometimes gives insane hands , unbelivable.

Of course its rigged, how can you explain all the retarded suckouts and magic cards people with rubbish hit. The amount of times my higher pocket pairs in heads up lose is witness to that too whereas its not often I beat people with higher pockets than me in the same situation. That or the shuffle systems for every poker site are just retarded.

I highly doubt that any reputable poker site is rigged... If Full Tilt or PokerStars are rigged,...then they are rigged in MY favour and not other folks... I cash in more games than most folks,...and not as much as some others... I'm consistently on the BrM leaderboard,...and now on the FT leaderboard.... Not bragging,...just saying.
Why would they be rigged in MY favour....? It's beyond me if they are... I think folks just remember all the bad beats,...and not all the good ones, because the bad ones have more of an impression on you...

They don't rig to make a certain person win or lose, that would be bad for them but they could rig the cards to make more action packed action so they get more rake. Then its all in our heads and we just like to think its rigged.

Just had me and someone with big cards with big raises get called by a fish with 92o and hit 99 on the flop then a 2 on the turn. Rigged for rake like I said.
------------ 100% rigged for action and rake. I hit trips on the flop then fullhouse on the river. I have the nuts and only ine card card beat me. As standard in poker that one card comes out. Story of my life. This was plating slow and not an all in either. Its so constant that I know its rigged or something else. Another bankroll losy because of this crap.
