Ronin's Bankroll Management Challenge  +1
G’day Mobsters

Current Bankroll is now $ - 2.16 USD

that is a - $ 2.16 for the entire 2 month challenge.

Well this new blog is going to be about the single most important skill a poker player must have in their arsenal in order to be a successful winning player.
Bankroll Management has been estimated to be the single most neglected poker skill by almost 95% of all players. Countless books have been written on the subject, and yet most players most often just ignore the rules of proper bankroll management.
I too fall into this trap at times.
This new blog is intended to show how proper bankroll management can ensure that and good poker player who approaches his bankroll and poker play from a solid and disciplined position can succeed.
It also is intended to help me to remain focused and discipline in my own bankroll quest to succeed.
G'day mates

Well my goals for 2014 are a lot different from 2013.

I want to become healthier & feel better physically,
I want to turn my poker game back around and once again become a winning player.
A specific poker goal is to make a monthly profit of just $200.
If I can do that for three months in a row then to double it to just $400.
Not going to be overly greedy this year and state a massive poker goal.
Just not able to put in the need grind time right now for heath reasons.
Want to keep my BankrollMob Blog properly updated and see it succeed.
Want to buld up a silver stack from 0 to 2000 oz. in 2014
I think that is enough for now

Hope we all achieve our goals for 2014
Happy New Year
be cool

Ronin

I will start with 50 buy-ins at a limit lower than the one I normally play.
I normal like to play at NL 10 and NL 25. I think generally I can beat these limits.
I will move up and take shots when my bankroll grows by a fixed number of buy-ins.
These will come from a combination of table winnings, rakeback, and bonuses.
I will move back down if I lose a fixed number of buy-ins.
I MUST have the discipline to follow through with my plan.
I will NOT play the zoom tables.
My starting bankroll was a $50 Cdn deposit which converted to just over $48 US.
Ok that means that I must play at the 0.01/0.02 NL tables, (min buy in of $0.80, max buy in of $2.00)
until I can raise my bankroll to $100. I will sit down at the tables with $1.00 per table.
With the $100 BR I will move up to the 0.05/0.10 NL tables. (min buy in of $4, max buy in of $10).
I will sit down at the tables with $10.00 per table and continue to build my bankroll to $500.
Once I get a $500 bankroll I will go up to the 0.10/0.25 NL tables. (min buy in of $10, max buy in of $25)
I will sit down at the tables with $10.00 per table and continue to build my bankroll to $500.
Will reassess the plan at that time and decide if I want to move up a level or not.
If at any time I lose 20% of my bankroll I will need to fall back to a lower level to rebuild to make another assent.

The Bankroll Building quest is now as follows.

I intend to take this $48 US deposit and build it up to $25 000 by 01/01/2014.

To quote John McEnroe: "You can not be serious"...

I though you wanted to practice proper bankroll management, and you set an impossible goal like that?

Well my hats off to you if you manage that...

Good luck!

G'day mate

Well one must aim high to achieve greatness.
I intend to totally outline my attack plan and document my progress on a daily basis.
The only reason I have not explained the plan in detail as of yet is it will be a lond message and not enough time to write it at this second.
Will do that later tonight or tomorrow morning.

i like Thumbs Up
huge goal, hmmm that's a good thing and a bad thing in itself- Ted Turner once said: "You should set goals beyond your reach so you always have something to live for"...i believe there is a lot of wisdom in those words...still i hope you will succeed with your goal...
one odd thing here...why the hell $48... Confused not the usual round number, like $50...i surely hope you haven't mortgaged your home and this is how much u got left Big Smile

Pretty lofty goal there dude.....!!! I'm thinking there's something in all that medicine they gave you in the hospital that they didn't WARN you about... Big Smile

That's FIVE THOUSAND times your original investment... Shock

Would be nice if you could pull it off,...

You know we will all be rooting for you... Smile Thumbs Up

Thats a goal with very high expectations and probably unreachable at least for you Smile
If i was to bet in this i would put my money that you wont make it.

I wish though you can prove me wrong and hit your goal. All the best for it.

I have watched a buddy win over 10g already this year just with MTT's

It took me a month of grinding micros to get to £200 and another half of a month to hit £450. You goal is too massive unless you are on high stakes. $1000 should be your goal for now bud.

Should be a tiered goal

1 month: $500
2 months: $1500
etc.

1 Year: $25,000+

G'day mates
I just placed my basic plan in my first post.

We shall see how it works out for me.
If nothing else it will be fun to try.
Been a long time since I had any real focus on a true goal.
Hoping this will motivate me to play my "A Game" and do very well.
be cool

Sweet thread Ronin! Love the challenge even if for cash games it's very, very, very hard to get there.

Best of luck, i'll definately chech your thread daily if you update it Big Smile

It's a big and ambitious goal you made for urself m8 so i'll just wish you good luck with that Thumbs Up

Btw, how many tables will you be playing at the same time? It'll be hard to keep your strategy if u play for instance 4 tables and you move up the first level. At that moment u'll have 40% of ur roll in play so it'll be interesting to know how will you manage that without falling into the temptation of keeping the level even if you happen to lose the 2 buy-ins max loss u set for urself.

Seems like a great idea with an unrealistic goal. It could work as long as you win Smile but with that goal, every setback is disastrous and could discourage you too quickly.
How many hours per day are you gonna play? on how many tables?

Anyway - have the best of luck and prove us wrong...

Indeed it's a big and ambitious goal which is no doubt possible with the plan you made but the only problem there is as mentioned by several mobsters ---> the period of time you planned to reach the goal... 3 months is not enough unless the poker god is with you...

at least 8 months would have been fair IMO but anyway gl sir as I'm definitely gonna follow this blog.

G"day Mobster's

Well I will do two things is this post.

1st- I know that the goal of making $25K by the 01/01/2014 goal date is really going to be an uphill battle, There are only 4 months left in 2013.
This number was not just chosen out of thin air.
Some of you might recall a thread way back in Dec 2012 in which people were asked what their goals for 2013 was.
My goal for poker was to make 25K playing online poker which would allow me to pay all my bills,.
I realize that over the next 4 months I will most likely not make my goal for the year.
It has been a very bad year for me with months spent in the hospital and very little poker actually getting played.

2nd- I want to let people know that I will be doing all updates within the threads 1st post.

Good luck bud in any case. Just stick to bankroll management, and I mean it as I strayed off it when I got lots of money and thought it was untouchable. I was wrong and lost it all.
